New York Yankees Take World Series
Saturday, October 28th, 1995: It was a clash of the two best teams in the MLB -- the New York Yankees and the San Diego Padres -- and when the dust cleared on the diamond -- the Yankees were the 1995 World Series champions.
It all came to an end today at Jack Murphy Stadium, when New York clinched the title with a 14-5 victory and won the series 4-3. It is the 1st time it has happened in club history.
During the American regular season New York put up a 100-62 record and finished second.
