If there was a poll, I'd say keep. Potential to start if there are two other good pieces around him, but ideally a 4th outfielder.

He deserves another shot to work some of the kinks out of his swing (would have been nice to do when they sent him down but of course he got hurt) but he needs to keep the K's down.
I mean 98 strikeouts in 298 AB is just way too much.
How many 4th OF do the Mets have btw lol?
Still A Better Umpire Than Angel Hernandez!!!
I still believe in Kirk. He can play an average CF, he just need to strike out a bit less. He's got some power too, but he doesn't put the ball in the air enough.
I'm a Kirk fan, but he needed to go down sooner rather then the later that he did. He always rises to the top. 2013 is the Captains break out year.. Rock-Man said it 10-17-12, put it on the calendar!

He's good enough to bring back and give another chance.
Once again, this is a talented young player who looked worse than he is because as a rookie he was tossed into the limelight simply because of the weak overall roster.
He may no prove to be more than 4th OFer, but there's enough there to think he can also work his way into being a legitimate starting major league OFer.
You think about it, in 2011 he was hurt and missed more than half the 2011 season. First week of 2012 we call him up due to injury to Torres. Heck.. he hadn't even got back to where he was prior to the season ending injury and boom the Mets need him. Give him time, he'll come through.

Does anyone else see his ceiling as a Josh Reddick type?

I've been a big Kirk supporter for a long time, but his performance last year was disappointing. He started out great, but it seemed that pitchers solved him and it was downhill from there. I still think he has the potential to be a starting OF in the majors, but he needs to make some adjustments and perhaps that is best done back in AAA this year, although Las Vegas is hardly the place to get a realistic view of offensive talent.
That said, I would have absolutely no problem with including Kirk (or dD, but not both) in a package for an established outfielder with pop or speed, or for a good starting pitcher.
Former B'klyn Dodger fan. Mets Maniac since 1962.
Give him another half season in triple A to recover from his injury and work on his AB's then bring him up as a viable 4th OF'er
I want he and Duda to compete for an OF spot as we acquire 2 starting OF from outside the organization.
