    Battle of the Divisions: 2005

It's the ultimate showdown. Which division truly is the best?

Rules: 1 player from each team, so either 7 or 8 totals.

    Atlantic:
    Center: Pau Gasol
    Power Forward: Kevin Garnett
    Small Forward: Paul Pierce
    Shooting Guard: Tracy McGrady
    Point Guard: Raul Lopez
    Bench: Tony Parker, Soumaila Samake

    Analysis:
Perhaps the most well rounded team of all. 3 of the top 5 scorers in the league including Tracy McGrady who is on a tear. Pierce is 8th in the league in scoring and Lopez has emerged as the best 3 point shooter in the league through Sim 1. Defensively, the team has 3 A players, McGrady who is solid and Pierce who is decent as well. The bench features decent role players in Parker who is leading the 76ers to a surprising 5th seed and Samake who is a big body to fill the paint.

    Central:
    Center: Yao Ming
    Power Forward: Tyson Chandler
    Small Forward: Antawn Jamison
    Shooting Guard: Joe Johnson
    Point Guard: Mo Williams
Bench: Jannero Pargo, Jamal Crawford, Dwight Howard

Another nice team with perhaps the best front-court of them all. Yao and Chandler are two great bigs and Jamison has become a scoring machine yet efficient. Johnson has also been terrific and Mo Williams has played beyond expectations yet will have to play the role of distributor. They are a pretty average defensive squad with no A's. The bench is pretty lousy though with inexperience and plan bad players. Can Mo Williams guard the elite PG's of the league?

    Midwest:
    Center: Brett Holman
    Power Forward: Chris Bosh
    Small Forward: Antoine Walker
    Shooting Guard: Michael Redd
    Point Guard: Jay Williams
    Bench: Devin Harris, Andrew Bynum

Analysis:Holman is clearly the weak point of this team. The rest is solid with Bosh, whose numbers this year are down but still dangerous. Walker has lifted the Rockets into 1st place in the West. Redd is a terrific shooter and is keeping the Nuggets afloat. Jay Williams has become the forgotten man in Vancouever with the arrival of Lebron but he has carried the team with the King injured. Another average defensive team, and another bench filled with inexperience, although Devin Harris has looked promising for the Mavs.

    Pacific:
    Center: Shaquille O'Neal
    Power Forward: Anderson Varejao
    Small Forward: Gerald Wallace
    Shooting Guard: Kobe Bryant
    Point Guard: Ray Allen
    Bench: Carmelo Anthony, Alton Ford

Analysis: If it wasn't for Varejao, this team might be the class of the divisions. Shaq has been beasting and is 2nd in the league in scoring. Wallace, Kobe, and Bryant are all 20 PPG scorers although neither has performed to the way we expect. Allen is a full 5 points lower in his PPG. The same with Kobe Bryant who is averaging a surprisingly low 18 PPG. Melo has looked pretty good for the Suns and Alton Ford is well... Alton Ford.

    So, Who you got?

Yeah though it's atlantic by a mile. 4 of the 5 starters are easily the best at their positions.

    Bosh>>> Al Jeff

Redd is only one from Nuggs I'd take on one of these teams and he's SG.

I was thinking at center... He's definitely better than Holman. DWade would also make a much better combo guard than harris.

Only 1 player per team and I tried using them only in their listed position.

pau, kg, and mcgrady would be pretty brutal to beat. thats lots of offense and defese. fit wise lopez is perfect, but not a huge fan of pierce as he is mostly offense and this team probably wouldn't need more offense

Raef as back up > Bynum.

Raef can play C/pf/sf (A- c/pf and B+ sf) can shoot, can't pass worth a lick but he's awesome, next sim hes going to be a supersub at all 3 positions.

This is how we do it! I still believe
