    A-Rod contract has a flaw

Apparently when the Yankees-A-Rod signed the contract that exists today, it had to be under the assumption that A-Rod was drug free...Since then, it has come out that he had taken 'supplements' or whatever you want to call it. Isn't that enough for the Yankees to have a breach of contract against him, therefore negate the balance of his contract? This should be the opening to get rid of him.

Absolutely but only if they asked him if he was steroid free. If he said he never used, then they can claim Fraud in the Inducement.

In other words, he sold them an u true bill of goods as to what he really was.

Of course, it would probably cost them $50 million to fight the mlbpa so what's the point...

It would cost a lot of money because the MLBPA would probably take it to court. Even if they win the case it still costs money. And it also would probably have some negative effect on signing players in the future. Think of all the guys that have gotten caught - no team has ever did this to them. I don't think being the team that voided a contract in this way would be a good pitch to FAs.

The flaw is that no player is worth 30M a year. Ever.

If you could get a guaranteed 10 seasons out of Trout like he just had then perhaps.
