Duhon is partially guaranteed for next yr, Blake and Ebanks are young and athletic and in the final yr of their cheap contracts, and a 2nd rd pick.

Detroit gets to shed Tayshaun's salary, which pays him 3 yrs and $22M.

Blake is neither young, cheap, nor athletic.


Some of the impossible trade ideas in this thread baffle me. If teams wanted to take Blake, Duhon, and probably Clark we'd jump on the opportunity to send them out for a 2nd and a TPE, teams aren't gonna give a valuable piece for any of them. I honestly think at least a quarter (probably more) of Laker fans have no idea that trades are supposed to be mutually beneficial.

Sorry, I meant to say Clark, not Blake. If you noticed in my proposed deal, it was Duhon + Clark + Ebanks for Prince.

I think our starting 5 is going to stay the same with Metta.

I've always liked Wright. He could definitely backup Metta as I am still not sold on the overrated Ebanks.

Don't think GSW takes on Blake, but good chance they take on someone like Duhon who's contract is partially guaranteed for 2013-2014. (Blake is fully guaranteed for the next 2 yrs )



Also, heads up to everyone, the Jazz have put that little bastard Raja Bell officially on the trading block.

Get Al Harrington from ORL. His wage is only 50% guaranteed for next 2 years and would easily fit the starting unit or bench. Blake and steak knives. They only have 2 point guards whereas we have 19.

I think this piece does a good job of clarifying a good deal of confusion about just who is playing which position on the bench:

For those seeking silver-ish linings to Kobe being sidelined, at least Mike Brown will get the rare opportunity to see Devin Ebanks and Jodie Meeks in extended minutes at shooting guard, where he's earmarked both to play with a full roster. As the coach explained during Monday's practice, in a perfect world, he'll employ a big man rotation of Howard, Pau Gasol and Jordan Hill, with Antawn Jamison the primary backup at small forward behind Metta World Peace. This leaves Ebanks and Meeks penciled in for Kobe's leftovers. Unfortunately, Hill's absence has forced Brown to slide Jamison to the 4, Ebanks to the 3 and clarity to the side.

With Hill potentially on hand for a big man rotation with Gasol and Robert Sacre tonight, Brown can perhaps watch Ebanks and Meeks in his preferred spot. Brown has been complimentary of both, but their skill sets are fairly different and equally useful. Ebanks is more of a slasher, with a higher upside as a rebounder, defender and general athlete. Meeks is the more proven shooter, and this team desperately needs floor spreaders.

The idea that Jamison has been playing out of position is also a good one to remember. He's been struggling, but maybe that will end when he gets more minutes away from all of the size in the post.
