Now that the C's have Barbosa --
http://espn.go.com/boston/nba/story/...cs-source-says
-- I see two direct impacts on the Lakers.
First, all those "trade Blake + a bag of manure for Barbosa" posts are history.
Second, the C's are clearly falling in line with the small-ball* theory, and from a distance I have to say that they're pretty damn stocked for doing battle with the Heat. (Probably the single match-up I'm looking to more than any this year, because no matter who wins I'll be laughing myself sick at the losers.)
If small-ball is simply the wave of the future, maybe the Lakers are in trouble. Having said that, I don't think small-ball is the wave of the future. I think big players always have an advantage, and the Lakers are suddenly looking crazy big.
Imagine defending this 4th-quarter line-up: Howard, Pau, Hill, Metta, Kobe. Now imagine trying to score on that team with a bunch of dwarves -- even if one of them is LeBron. I don't see that as a weak line-up, or even a slow one. Maybe they're not gazelles, but they're not plodders either.

Did you see on fb about dwight possibly playing tomorrow?

Trade MWP, Blake, Clark and picks for J-Smoove.
Duhon + Clark + Ebanks + 2nd rd pick for Tayshaun Prince.
never wanted lakers to get barbosa since he is not a pg and we need one.
want lakers to trade:
duhon- dont like what I have seen so far
Clark- good defender but not much offense
keep blake he is playing better at least for now until we can create a trade for a better pg![]()
Blake is neither young, cheap, nor athletic.
Some of the impossible trade ideas in this thread baffle me. If teams wanted to take Blake, Duhon, and probably Clark we'd jump on the opportunity to send them out for a 2nd and a TPE, teams aren't gonna give a valuable piece for any of them. I honestly think at least a quarter (probably more) of Laker fans have no idea that trades are supposed to be mutually beneficial.
