I think we go DT in the first round next draft if Kendall Langford doesn't improve. I love Brockers, Long, and Quinn, straight bosses. Langford is mediocre at the moment, but I'm hoping it's just taking him a while to adjust to a 4-3. I hope he does as it will save us a draft pick and we are paying him a good amount. If he doesn't pan out, there's a really good 4-3 DT in the next draft that should be in the first round (Jernigan).

really? All I've read is that he's been disappointing and hasn't been able to properly switch to a 4-3. From what I watched, he really didn't flash anything that I would be ecstatic about.

I'm gonna say that the majority agree with me here because if he was the reason our line improved last year, he would be on that list in the link. The fact that he's the only one from the line that's not present, I'm gonna have to go with him being the weak link if we do have one (which I think we do).

When the Rams signed defensive tackle Kendall Langford away from the Miami Dolphins in 2012, they secured a rock solid interior lineman. He paid immediate dividends, and is one of the main reasons why the Rams defense turned a corner. In 2011, the Rams defense ranked #31 against the rush. In 2012, they improved to #15.

I think Brockers had more to do with the improvement in our run D more so than Langford.

I wish I could find the articles I've read, too, because that article you showed me is, I think, only the second article I've read complimenting Langford's play last season.

I expected more, though, without question. Brockers was more productive than he was.

Either way, I still think we should grab a DT with a first rounder because our depth at the position is pathetic. I wouldn't mind a rotation between Brockers, Langford, and a new DT.

The main reason I'm on board with another DT is $$. We need to clear up some cash so getting a new DT would allow us to cut Langford if we want and save money.

Rams top draft pick Tavon Austin is learning a harsh reality about being drafted high in the NFL draft. He has been dealing with everyone that comes out of the woodwork when fame and imminent fortune show up on the doorstep, Nick Wagoner of Stlouisrams.com reports.

“Just people,” Austin said. “Everybody expects a lot of things from you as far as money. Everybody wants to be around you. My phone doesn’t stop ringing now. It feels like they’re counting my bank account now. So that’s probably the hardest thing for me right now, just people.

“I’ve got a lot of cousins now. The whole (city of) Baltimore is my cousin now. We’re going to just try to keep focused and let my mother and all of them handle it.”

Austin will attend the NFL's rookie symposium in June and hopefully gain some insight into how to deal with this type of issue.
