Lockout a "Blessing in Disguise" for Nino and Isles?

    Lets just consider it.

Nino Niederreiter had an awful season last year. Unless he tore it up in camp, I think he would find himself in the AHL this year, without a doubt. Now I wouldn't question management on it, but I would be very wary of what it could do for his development and confidence. it would surely wreck hi confidence (as if 1 goal in 49 games wasn't enough) and I dont know, the developmental affect would be questionable. Would it be better to let him grow into the NHL and grind it out becaus ehe had already been fully exposed there?

I dont know. All I know is that the lockout made a decision I would have considered tough to be a very easy one. As far as Nino sees it, he's in the AHL because there's no NHL season and the management feels he can greatly help the sound tigers. With that, we get to see our arguably top prospect go back to the AHL where he should be and see him develop there, regain his confidence, and succeed. AHL rookie of the year this year.

One more benefit is, Let's say we can start the season in mid November or so. We get a full 1 and a half months or so to see what Nino can do in the NHL. If he is tearing it up (still, off to an awesome start) then he'll have earned his spot back and shown he's actually ready. If he's inconsistent down there? No big deal if we dont call him up.

    thought?

The lockout is definitely a blessing in disguise for the Isles. I said it before half-jokingly, but you can't finish in last if there's no season. Our future is completely in the hands of our young players/prospects, and giving them the chance to gain experience without the pressure of contributing to an NHL club is extremely valuable.

Well the need to fix the lottery system
Because I could easily see us getting like the 20th pick when in reality we should get another top 7 maybe top 5 . And the in 2013/14 when we start winning our team will probably be less dangerous than it would with on of mackinnon, barkov or jones

Nino had **** on his line when he was playing last year. I hope the lockout does help him because he is key in our success moving foward.

Is this Nino Niederreiter guy any good? Serious question.
Sandy Alderson says Mets' 2014 payroll will be more than $87 million

5th overall pick in 2010. Really disapointing season in 2011 but he had no good linemates 55 games played and 1 goal horrible +/ but he had **** on his line. He's tearing it up in Bridgeport now though hes one of the top scores so far, 14 games played 9 goals, and 8 assists. Let's just hope he can regain his confidence and develop into that top offensive player we wanted him to be. I'm sure he can do it because hes showing it in the AHL right now.

Cool. Haven't been able to keep up with all of these draft picks.

Yeah hate to say it but the lockout has been helping. Nino is a big piece in moving foward on our team on the 2nd line.
