I understand the Royals needed SP really bad, but they gave up too much for Shields. He's a good pitcher, but damn lol.

You never know. Maybe those prospects live to be nothing, and Shields wins cy young next season. Nobody can predict the future.
You know how many times people have said Beane's made a terrible move, and it worked out great for the A's?

Heck, the Royals could of atleast got Hellickson for that price. Not necessarily better than Shields, but under control for longer

Yah, its hard to believe KC offered us Myers for Anderson....that would of been worth taking if our outfield situation wasnt set. Crazy crazy crazy. If they offered us Odorizzi on top of Myers, than I'd be so damn tempted

That's always a possibility in any trade with prospects and players alike. What makes this trade bad is that the present value of the package KC sent to TB should have garnered a better return.

If I'm a KC fan, I can't be mad about that trade. How many of their pitching prospects has turned out to be studs in the last 10 yrs? One. They're trying to win some games for a change, and that's what I like.
