    1. Trade for a capable SS for marginal prospects. Absorb the contracts to keep prospect cost at a minimum.
    2. Sign a mid level starter(s) like Dan Haren. 3 years 30m
    3. Trade excess players at 1B, and OF/DH. This means you Barton and Taylor... assuming anyone wants you two...

Yeah I would love to bring back Haren.

Same, but don't think I would go 10 mil a year. I thinkI would top out at about 8 mil a year. There are also some questions about his health, so I don't know if teams will be willing to pay that much for him. Maybe his price will be a lot lower than expected.

No thanks. I'd rather re-sign McCarthy before Haren.

I'd only bring in those guys if they were cheap. Both have health concerns, we can't afford to invest a lot in players like that.

I actually think Haren's value is dropping rapidly. On a similar note of bringing back old players, there was an article on bleacher report about bringing back one of my favorites..... Swish! I know bleacher report isn't exactly a reliable source, but it was still an interesting read.

    My thoughts:

Would love Swish back, the author made a lot of valid points and had some good ideas BUT 6-8 million a year? for only 2-3 years? Man I would love him for that, but I think we can all agree that he will get payed a lot more than that and for more than 3 years. I imagine teams will over pay for him, putting him way out of reach.

Yeah I think we're pretty set on the OF...If we weren't gonna sign Gomes I doubt we're gonna sign Swish.

    Jed Lowrie is available.

Nothing would satisfy me more than seeing a bunch of ex-Redsox players succeed in Oakland.

It feels good to be back from my one week suspension. I would love for the A's to acquire Asdrubal Cabrera. Would make an excellent 2 hitter behind Coco/Young and before cespy, moss, reddick

Lowrie might be an interesting option. Wonder what it would take to get him?

Have no clue but the Asstros need bodies. I can't imagine the package being great since Lowrie is often injured.
