If we can resign him cheap then I don't have a problem keeping him. But I wouldn't sign him if he want's top 5 money.

I've always wanted to keep him, but after today I say tag him and trade him to the highest bidder. We can move Martin back to his natural position and look into a FA or the draft (again) for a RT.

What's funny is he has been top 5 vs the pass according to PFF and had a bad day vs a VERY good pass rusher who gives everyone fits and now Long is terrible.

I'd resign him for 7 mil a season easy.

I wouldn't mind trading him, but for the right price. Long stated at the beginning of the season "this is the best and healthiest I've been in a long time", yet his play is declining. False starts, holding, getting beat by defenders to often has become a common thing for him. Im not just talking this year, it has been last year also. He is definetaly going to want more money then he is worth. I would like to see the Dolphins get multiple draft picks for him. Slide Martin back to his original position at LT.

    Long looked like columbo yesterday.

Sad part is, that's not even stretching it.

Funny is he hasn't been. Was a top 5 LT before last week according to PFF.

He had only giving up 7 pressures until this game.

The only guys with less, Ryan Clady, Duane Brown, Joe Thomas, Winston Justice

Jake Long is still a top 5-10 LT in the game.

It's just not pressure that matters. It's also the false starts, and holding calls. They are drive killers.

I'm starting to change my mind about Jake Long. I don't want us to re-sign him unless its to a incentive based contract(Just like we did with Cameron Wake).

I got to admit I like Long. I really would like not to trade him. I would really like to sign him to a cap friendly contract, as godolphins said, make it incentive based.

However, if we trade him, I'm going to be greedy. I'm going to want a high 2nd round pick. If I'm going to trade Long, I want to give myself a shot to draft the bookend OTs from Texas A&M, Joeckel and Matthews.

I'd like to shop John Jerry, Nate Garner around to see what I can get for them. I'd consider in the draft Barrett Jones and Dallas Thomas for the interior line positions.

Been saying for a while we should trade Jake Long - would definitely get a 1st for him. Only move for Miami is to franchise him after the season and then trade him or sign him long term.... Personally I'd just trade him, he's not as good as everyone here thinks he is. Not saying he's awful but he's a top 10-15 tackle, not a top 3 tackle (and he wants to be paid like a top 3 tackle which is where I have the issue).

We can draft another good lineman early, especially if we had another 1st rounder.

I'd love for someone to show me where Jake ever said he wanted top 3 money.

Also he has given up 3 sacks, 6 hits, 5 hurries for the entire season. That isn't that bad.

Only three offensive tackles have allowed fewer quarterback hurries than Jake Long this season, and two of them are right tackles.
