In a second. A power bat is a lot easier to find then a true ace pitcher.

Absolutely without hesitation. Joey is early 30's , Felix is middd 20's ? . Id prob give up Joey and one or two of our top prospects right now

Absolutely. King Felix is arguably the better player right now. And in a couple years, Bautista is probably going to start declining, whereas King Felix will still be just as good for the next 5 years at least.

Yeah, just like Lincecum was supposed to be just as good for the next 5 years when he was Felix's age. Funny thing happened after the first of those 5 seasons, and now he's behind Barry Zito on the Giants' depth chart. Which isn't to suggest Felix is gonna fall off like that (or that Lincecum will continue to stink), just that the velocity concerns are very real. No pitcher is a sure thing.

It does open up some ideas for trades though...

Again...before everyone loses their nut. Sometimes trading your best piece for other pieces is the way to go. Who has lots pitching and no offense?

2 Years left in his contract at 20 mil, he's probably not resigning with us... without Bautista, our offence has been brutal even with all our other regulars back.

Trading Bautista just creates a hole in right field... unless AA plans to sign Hamilton, which would raise our payroll by 26 mill+, this trade would be horrible...

I agree with you big time, as much as I'd love to see Felix in a Jays uniform, you just wonder how much that arm has left in it before an injury happens.. The Mariners have pitched him a ton over the past few years..

Trade him for David Price. Rays need offence, Jays need an Ace. Trading Bautista in this instance should/would cancel out the inter division factor.

Sign Hamilton to replace Batista's bat (Split LF & DH with Encarcion)
    Sign Liriano

Trade Escobar, Marsnick + pitching prospect for Upton.

    Rotation

    L- Price (Trade)
    R- Morrow
    L- Romero
    R- Alverez
    L- Liriano (FA)

LF -Hamilton / CF -Rasmus / RF -Upton

    3B -Lawrie / SS -Herchaverra / 2B -? / 1B -Lind / DH -Encarcion

    C -JP/Darnaurd

    Lineup

    R -Lawrie
    L -Rasmus
    R -Upton
    L -Hamilton
    R -Encarcion
    L -Lind

Good plan with solid upgrades across the diamond and mound, but I would still go for Felix rather than price

Felix may be the better option of the 2 but Seattle seems determined to keep him, while there is talk according to several reports that Rays are considering trading Price because of his super 2 status.

Rays need offence, Jays need an ace, both are the teams respective best players which should cancel out it being an inter division trade. Jays would also have to face Bautista more than Rays would see Price.

Jays IMO should also consider moving Lawrie to 2nd base considering the 2nd base market if it is easier to acquire a 3rd baseman either by trade or FA.

Everyday superstar vs pitching superstar. You tell me. Pretty damn easy decision.

I think this topic has been posted a few times before, but no....Seattle would never do the deal, especially now with Jose's wrist problems, need to see him back into form.

Plus, I see King Felix being a Mariner for life. He's the one guy Seattle can keep throwing money at to stay. I think you really have to bite the bullet and just wait for guys like Taijuan Walker, Danny Hultzen and James Paxton to make it to the Majors. Those guys could all be up in 2013. Could still be another 3 years for those guys to be comfortable but King Felix will still only be 29 as well with another 7-10 years to anchor a potential great rotation. If I'm Seattle I'm thinking long-term as the likelihood the M's get another King Felix is none. Seattle will be an emerging team soon.
