Chris Young traded to OAK for Cliff Pennington and a not so good minor league infielder. I bet we didn't even try to get him. That's pretty cheap for a solid defensive outfielder with power and speed.

I would bring back Jeff Keppinger too, he's a solid RH bat that can 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base.

He hit .325 last season in 385 AB.

Other teams should leave Keppinger alone. The Rays need as much help on offense as they can.

Let's get real. The D-Backs got Pennington, an established SS, and Bell, who they look to hold down the 8th inning leading to Putz, in exchange for Young. Pennington may be a light hitter, but we don't really have a comparable. We probably would have had to give up Valdespin or Flores and Parnell. Would it be worth it?

That's up to the Rays to decide to keep him.

If they want him, they'll spend the money to keep him but considering they're the Rays they'll probably let him walk because his services have gotten too expensive.

They usually find another player to plug into those positions just fine and i only mention it because the Mets need an inexpensive RH hitter who could play 1st and 2nd base.

Keppinger fits that bill to a tee.

Now that the A's got Young, what do you guys think about Seth Smith? He's a pretty solid and clutch player and really underrated. I think he'd be a pretty good option for LF next season
