He's not adequate at best, he's an adequate catcher with the potential for more. No one will suck balls like Thole, so stop comparing the two.

You don't need some stud catcher to be a good team. Just one that is better than Thole.

Hope that sucker is the Mets. Why would the Padres give him an extension if they thought he blows?

Because many teams are suckers who give a guy a new deal based on a blip of good year and hope that that is a taste of things to come. Many times those hopes come crashing down.

The more I think about it the more I dislike the Nick Hundley suggestion.

He's a "Sandy Alderson" guy but so were Chin Lung Hu and Andres Torres.

I wouldn't be upset with him but he isn't my top choice whatsoever.

I meant that he's not some young catcher that just needs years of experience. Of course he can improve. I'm saying that Hundley can improve back to his 2009-2011 level, and a change of scenery would help.

29 years old is not 33 or 34 years old, so it's not like he's done.
