Yeah for sure, he's a pretty nice defender as well.

Hart is better acquired in FA next year because the Mets would have to give up a **** load to get him, that also goes the same for Kubel.
Actually, I think Young and Choo are options too. The D'Backs are willing to eat a lot of Youngs salary, and Choo only gets paid about $4Million a year

I like Chris Young but he is terribly inconsistent with the stick (.309 wOBA on the road isn't particularly impressive either)

As for Choo, it's a possibility but he's gonna get a raise most likely in arbitration that might be out of the Met's price range.

I would definitely take Choo if he was in our price range.
Yeah I mean I agree with both statements. I think Young could provide some Power and Speed to a lineup that sorely lacks it. And I think that Choo could ask for a raise but like they could trade for him now and extend him after the year when they have more money, like the way the Lakers are doing/gonna do with Howard (not to compare situations but you get the point)

Hey like i said don't bash the list, a lot of those guys would significantly help the Mets.

It's just a matter of who they are going to be able to afford and this FA period looks alot like last year from all indications.

Next year, the FA list is looking pretty good for us, and we'll have money to spend.

In CF, we can go after Ellsbury or Gomez
In RF, we can go after Choo or Hart
For 2B, we can go after Hill or Prado

I'd rather we get Ellsbury/Hart and Gomez/Choo since of the lefty-righty difference, we can easily build a very good next year with all the payroll available.

    C-Hundley(R)
    1B-Davis(L)
    2B-Prado/Hill(R)
    SS-Tejada(R)
    3B-Wright(R)
    LF-Trade Inquisition
    CF-Ellsbury/Gomez(L)(R)
    RF-Choo/Hart(L)(R)

Add that to our pitching, and we can win sooner rather than later.

Haha I know man no worries. But yeah I agree about FA but I think that it seems they're willing to make some deals that could help them out, so I'm thinking they could be willing to add one of these good OFers. If I made a guess, they'll use the FA market to shore up the bullpen and possibly Catcher Situation (Russel Martin), and the trade market to get an OFer and maybe a Catcher (Nick Hundley).
Not saying that they'll def get Martin or Hundley but like that mold of player

    Yep.

Even Michael Morse out in LF if Hart or Choo is gone in RF.

But no doubt a team like that would compete for the division.

It's all a Mets fan can do these days

But there is no excuse as to why it cannot come to fruition.

Totally Agree man. I think that next offseason could be really exciting. But I also feel that if they make some decent moves this offseason and get creative, they could compete this year too. I see a good future ahead, which I don't think I would've said a year ago today

Yeah definitely, I think seeing the development of Niese, the emergence of Harvey, and the coming of Wheeler makes a Met fan excited of what's to come... We just need some damn offense and quality relievers!

They're will certainly be guys out there for the Mets to improve this team in 2014.

It's just a matter of spending money (which i know is the hard part lol)

    Catcher

    Kelly Shoppach (R)
    Nick Hundley (R)

    First Base

    Ike Davis (L)

    Second Base

    Daniel Murphy (L)

    Shortstop

    Ruben Tejada (R)

    Third Base

    David Wright (R)

I'll take this infield, anyday of the week.

Now onto the Outfield. How do we improve there?

I like the Chris Young suggestions..
