With Lynn, I combined his postseason bullpen appearances and his last two starts.

Lance Lynn's last pitch of the season will not be the walk-off homer he served up to Jayson Werth in Game 4 of the NLDS. Instead, he'll take the ball in Game 1 of the NLCS on Sunday after allowing three runs in three playoff relief appearances.

Bumgarner's Game 4 Division Series triumph at Atlanta in 2010 made him the youngest Giants pitcher to win a postseason game (21 years, 71 days). He was 10-3 with a 2.38 ERA at home in the regular season.

Vogelsong no-hit Cincinnati in the final four innings of his NLDS Game 3 start, which happened to be his first postseason appearance. Opponents hit .426 off him with runners in scoring position in his last nine regular-season outings.

After leading the Cardinals to a Wild Card game win, Lohse made one of the best starts of his career in Game 4 of the NLDS. Though a lack of run support cost him the win, he needed only 87 pitches to pitch seven innings, giving up a run on two hits.

The Giants won eight of Cain's final 10 regular-season starts, which earned him the Division Series Game 1 start against Cincinnati. His 55 regular-season wins since the beginning of 2009 are the NL's third-most.

*since Lincecum has been pitching in relief, I counted his postseason appearances as one start and then the two starts before that.

Wainwright is thrilled to get a chance for redemption after making the shortest start of his career in one of the biggest games he's pitched. Wainwright was chased from his second NLDS start in Game 5 after giving up six runs in 2 1/3 innings.

Lynn is out for redemption after lasting 3 2/3 innings in his NLCS Game 1 start. But this time, Lynn could prepare without also worrying about making relief appearances. If there's a concern, it's that Lynn's in uncharted territory with his workload.
