Kyle Hendricks, RHPMiller was hit in the right shin near the end of his last start, though he doesn't expect that to affect him on Tuesday. Miller has been sharp in September, allowing three runs (two earned) in 26 innings.
Wednesday, September 24, 7:05 PM CDT , Wrigley FieldHendricks is going for his ninth quality start in 13 outings. He's allowed a combined three earned runs and 12 hits in 12 1/3 innings over two starts vs. the Cardinals.
John Lackey, RHP
Jake Arrieta, RHPAfter having his start pushed back three days while dealing with a dead arm issue, Lackey made his best start as a Cardinal on Friday. He was efficient through 7 2/3 innings and scattered six singles.
For the third time this season, Arrieta took a no-hitter into the seventh, but again came up short. He did notch his first complete game shutout in a 7-0 win, holding the Reds to one hit. It was an impressive outing as he fanned 13.
