    Heartbreaking

I am a Mets fan, so my whole season is nothing to look forward to with them, at least you Nats fans have a good team....

I feel for you guys, I really do....that was a heartbreaking loss tonight....to lose the game in the ninth like that is terrible...but you will be back next year....

It really was heartbreaking. Such a good team and a great season wasted. I don't hold it against Storen. Just a rough outing. I have to put a lot of the blame on Davy Johnson - he should have pulled Gonzalez in the 5th inning. I know he wanted him to qualify for the win, but Gio couldn't find the strike zone again. The 2 runs he walked in were crucial. Should have brought a reliever in to take over & try to get them out of the trouble they were in. Oh well... There's always next year...

Davey absolutely should have had someone warming up in the 5th inning. Gio was struggling big time. That was a huge mistake in my opinion. He started to lose it in the 4th, but got out of it. That should have told Davey something right there.

The other thing I'm really shocked about happened in the 9th inning. I was in utter disbelief at the time so I wasn't really thinking straight, but why didn't Davey walk the #8 hitter to get to the pitcher's spot when the game was tied still? They either would have had to have Motte hit if they wanted him to pitch in the 9th or pinch hit for him. Either way it would have been a better option to pitch to the #9 spot. They probably would have used a pinch hitter, but that takes Motte out of the 9th. That seems like a huge mistake. At that point the game is still tied and all we would need is one swing in the bottom of the inning to walk off again.
