    Starting pitching was amazing

The starting pitching deserves all the credit in the world. CC, Andy, Kuroda, and Hughes all pitched like aces. To think this was the part of the team that gave us the most concern and they all stepped up and played out of their minds. We all watched the games and saw how these guys as a collective group kept this team in the series.

I know this is only the ALDS and anything can happen from here on out but for this series they deserve the praise.

Can't imagine what would have happened with 5 great pitching performances. Let's just hope the offense picks up some of the slack in the ALCS

I agree. For all the problems the rotation has gone through during the regular season, the starters are finally pulling through.

Now, if only the bats start making some noise...

    They completely shut Davis-Jones-Wieters out.
Detroit's line up is much tougher so it will be a big test.

I wonder if the next series will be a bunch of 6-4 games......

Either way......this was one bizarre series.

Actually the only one I was concerned about was Hughes and he was amazing. Definely have no problem going to war against Detroit with these guys.

I was not overly concerned but if most of us would have to list this teams strengths I think offense and bullpen would come first. 1-3 is very solid it's just Hughes (like you said) that was a bit iffy.

That Detroit Lineup with Prince and Miggy is scary at Yankee Stadium. I am worrying about the Kuroda start in Game 2
