Bourn & Valverde?

What do you guys think? Would you be opposed to signings like this? Now we most likely wont spend this type of money in the off-season, but if we did woudl you approve?

I'm against that. I don't want to give Bourn that much because he is getting up there in age and, with speed being his primary asset, who knows what he'll be like in a few years.

As for Valverde, I think it's clear that we need to stray away from giving relievers so muhc money. Just look at K-Rod, Putz, Frank Frank, Heath Bell, etc...

That money could be used to sign draft picks and make moves in the future when we're on the brink of becoming a very good team.

WE ARE NOT ON THE BRINK OF BECOMING A GOOD TEAM. WE STINK BIG TIME!!!!

These are just "plug-in" moves that will prevent us from falling in the "60-loss-5th place zone", and it allows us to stay in the "70-wins-4th place zone". I don't want to be in either of those zones.

I'd rather spend any money we have on draft picks and international YOUNG signings (remember we signed Jose Reyes young a decade ago). No need for moves like these. They'd be terrible for our situation.
