Fills a right handed LF bat if he does do well. People will find ways to complain about anything.
Because we already had Shelley Duncan who is not only better than Bay but he stays on the field too. He obviously didn't cut it so we decide to give a worse version of him more money? Makes no sense

If we can get Youkilis on a 2-year deal for less than 20M and I'd be for it. Anything more than that on the years or the money and no thanks

    Indians Interested In Nick Swisher
By Luke Adams [December 5 at 11:38am CST]
After missing out on Shane Victorino to the Red Sox, the Indians have shifted their focus to other outfielders. One of their targets, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney (via Twitter), is Nick Swisher.

The Red Sox and Giants both had interest in Swisher, but with Victorino in Boston and San Francisco likely not having the money for a big free agent outfielder, those teams both appear to be out of the running. The Orioles and Mariners are among the other clubs that could be in on Swisher.

If Victorino is getting 13 mill a year I would imagine Swisher is asking for the same if not more. Maybe he is a guy looking for more years though than more money per year or a championship team like SV. A lot of things going on though with the Tribe right now which is never a bad thing even if a lot doesn't come to fruition.

11:29am: Diamondbacks GM Kevin Towers tells Jack Magruder of FOXSportsArizona.com (Twitter link) that he prefers to deal directly with one club, since three- or four-team talks "kind of muddies the waters." He's still exploring all possibilities though. Heyman, following up on his Rangers/Upton report, says the current scenarios involve three or four teams (Twitter link). The Royals may also be in on talks with the D-Backs and Indians, according to ESPN.com's Buster Olney (via Twitter).

There no Jason Bay. You can step back from the ledge now. I know you are pleased that the Indians didn't break the bank for him.

2:44pm: Jon Paul Morosi and Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports still list the Red Sox and Giants among the potential suitors for Swisher. However, the Sox would have to move Jacoby Ellsbury, while the Giants figure to employ a low-cost platoon in left field instead.

The Orioles, Mariners, and Indians are also still involved, according to the FOX duo.

1:02pm: Indians manager Terry Francona called Swisher to pitch the Tribe to him, tweets Paul Hoynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

An official involved in the four-team trade talks tells Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that things are going "nowhere" at the moment (Twitter link).
One scenario had Upton going to the Rangers, Cabrera to the D'Backs, and Martin Perez and more to the Indians, tweets Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
The three-way and four-way talks are at a standstill for now, and it's not clear what the hold-up is, according to Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com (Twitter link).
Jim Bowden of ESPN.com and SiriusXM hears that the Indians are demanding a second pitcher from the D-Backs for Cabrera (Twitter link).

I thought Jason Bay would've been a decent low risk move if brought on with Youkilis/Swisher or others...

Add Youkilis, Swisher, Edwin Jackson and trade Cabrera for some decent pitching prospects and I'd call that a successful offseason for the Indians....

Could also trade Chris Perez for a position player prospect.

#Indians have met with Mark Reynolds' agents, but they're juggling a lot of hitters at the moment.

#Indians talking with #Dodgers about Dee Gordon, sources tell @Ken_Rosenthal and me. Would replace Asdrubal if traded.

Sources tell me Ryan Ludwick is interested in what the #Indians have to say; still waiting to hear from them though.
