What to look for in Knicks preseason opener

    by Steve Popper

The Knicks will debut the post-Jeremy Lin era squad tonight here in Washington, DC. So if you’re not part of the suddenly-crowded bandwagon of Nationals fans rooting for them to hang on to their season (is it too late to start up Stephen Strasburg again?) and you’re not waiting for the Yankees latest round of A-Rod-inspired dramatics (is sitting down to make way for the hero really inspirational?), then you must be ready for this one.

So what will you see tonight?

    1. Healthy Amar’e Stoudemire: Stoudemire never was quite right last season, finally getting his back and weight together after the All-Star break only to see it fall apart quickly. He is slim and fit and gets to unveil his new post moves, courtesy of Hakeem Olajuwon.

    2. The vets – I mean, the vet: The Knicks added a lot of age, but you won’t see Marcus Camby or Rasheed Wallace tonight, so the only one of real consequence on display is Jason Kidd. Mike Woodson sounded hesitant to put him at shooting guard tonight, but he will this season, and even said he’ll use him at small forward at times. But he won’t start at point guard and likely won’t see a lot of time anywhere tonight.

    3. The kids: Well, that’s a relative term. Rookie Pablo Prigioni makes his NBA debut, but at 35 he’s the oldest rookie in NBA history. Even 30-year-old James White didn’t make the trip.

No as always these lineups come from the NBA and ESPN, nothing has changed what is here is not the final starting lineup till its announced officially.

Projected is the key, you know this though, it has not changed since I've been here?

Well I have yet to see any PG in the league stay with Wall, he is so fast and quick, he will go coast to coast tonight.

He did it to every pg in the league last yr but this forum and reporters will find a way to twist it that we are old and slow.

    Just watch lol....

Wall is hurt, he's not going coast to coast on anybody. He'll be on the bench.

Back to gameday threads stilla! I'm looking really forward to this game- I just love games like this where we get to see what our role players can bring to the table since they'll be seeing a lot of minutes on the floor the next few games. Also will be very interesting to see how well Felton, Kidd and Prigioni run our sets for us this year. Our PG's are going to be ever so vital to our success this year. I hope Pablo sees some minutes and shows everyone how good he is.

Also looking forward to seeing our wings try to cover Bradley Beal. I wish Brewer and Shump were back, would be a very exciting H2H matchup watching either of them on Beal tonight.

Lol how guys don't know Wall is hurt. And Amare is hurt with a bruised knee and won't play 2night

    Standing on Sacred Ground

When the season starts and the blatant homerism subsides, people will realize the 2 biggest flaws on our team. MAYBE??

Oh yeah I forgot Wall is hurt for a while. I mean this is all just fine tuning time. When we play the Wizards again I expect Brewer to be placed on Wall to slow him down.

But boy oh boy do I miss the GDT. Our season is officially beginning boys/girls!!!!!! Only about 7 more hours left. LETS GO KNICKS!!!!!

When did that happen? Wasn't he active in Training camp just the other day? I haven't heard anything about him being out.
