Sign Josh Hamilton in the offseason?

Say the Marlins go on another spending spree, and Josh Hamilton becomes available as a free agent. Would he be worth the big bucks? If so how much?

if he is willing, why not? two solid power hitters in our lineup along (stanton + hamilton) along with hanley and reyes, id say we would finally be winning a few more games..

but in reality we need to better our starting pitching and bullpen.
altho johnson was solid at times this season, we need more more him.

We traded Hanley midseason. But your absolutely right about needing starting pitching which was horrendous at times last year. If we can rid ourselves of Heath Bell this offseason, then sign a starting pitcher or two and possibly sign a big hitter, we will have a perfect offseason.

He can play 1B and LF for the Marlins and he also has the personality colorful enough to match your colorful logos and uniforms.

Hell yes, Hamilton is a premier hitter. What team would not want him? The hell with waiting around for LoMo (Hermida 2.O).

Get Swisher or BJ Upton, it'd be smart to consider Mely as well given that's he'd be a bargain.

As much as we would like to see Josh Hamilton in a Marlins uniform, it won't happen. Not only because of salary contraints, but because Josh has huge drinking problems, so living in Miami and having South Beach so close would not be good for him. I would love for them to go for Greinke, and use JJ as ammo for a very good 3B or CF(although I could see them going with Zach Cox if he proves to be ready in S.T.). And if it were me, I'd take a chance on Melky, because chances are he will still be a good, solid player, and it could pay huge dividends.

Greinke, Haren, Hamilton, Bourn...lol
