I am no NBA expert but it seems to me that too many teams reach the playoffs. Over half the teams competing will be going to the post season.
I think 6 teams from each conference would be just about right, with the top 2 records from each conference receiving byes.

Nah, I think its setup pretty well right now, plus theres nothing better than playoff basketball.

I think it works well as is. For one, you would have to introduce some sort of bye if you cut down the number of teams. As it stands, there is basketball to watch every night which for a month or so is a nice thing to have.

I wouldn't mind seeing the 1st round of the playoffs go back to a best of 5 series and the top 16 records making it.

When we've seen 8th seeds beat 1 seeds then there isn't too many teams in the playoffs.

Decrease the amount of playoff games? I'd rather cut into the regular season, maybe cut 1 team in each conference. the more basketball the better, especially playoffs

Does it hurt the leagues money making potential? If not I'm cool with it. A team like Atlanta can't even break even by making it to the playoffs, they need a deep run.

I think playoff system right now is perfect. 8 Teams from west, 8 teams from east. With 16 teams you can create a perfect tournament, if you take 12 teams, there will be problems in playoff tournament system. Also its really profitable for the league and satisfying for the fans.

Considering on any given year that only 3-4 teams have a shot at winning the title, yeah it's too many. But Stern has decided his fans want to see their superstars (with their tailor-made rulse) beat up on lesser competition to draw out the playoffs.
