UPDATE: Corey Peters activated, will play Sunday vs PHI

Defensive tackle Corey Peters [stress fractured foot] is close to returning but remains on the reserve/non-football injury list.

“He’s been working with our athletic performance group on the side,” Smith said. “There will be a decision-making process in the term [physically unable to perform] from Week 6 through Week 9, where you can come off the list. That’s coming up very quickly.”

Peria Jerry opened the season in Peters’ place and played well at first. But the Falcons have turned more to Vance Walker in recent weeks.

Walker got 76% (!) of the defensive snaps vs Washington, only trailing Babs (96%) among the D-Linemen.

Biermann 71%, Jerry 51%, Edwards 25%. Peters' return will definitely cut into those last two even more.

They are also increasing Dent's workload, up to 55% last game. He needs to improve though.

Wow, I did not realize Biermann played so much. Maybe it was just everytime I was really looking Ray was in.

I really like Travian Robertson. I wished we would have landed that guy. He's a potential beast.

Robertson showed flashes in the preseason, but through five games, he has been on the field for a total of 4 snaps.

For us to plow through the playoffs, a healthy Peters could be key....

Consider the teams with good-to-great run games that ATL might face

    1. SF
    2. NYG
    3. CHI
    4. possibly HOU or NE in the super bowl

It seems the teams who dominate the line of scrimmage running the ball are more of the trend more of this year than in years past (GB and NO struggling).

LOL... only thing I am worried about is the Falcons not taking the Raiders seriously and coming out slow. Run DMC could be huge if they get a lead... but it should be more of the Matt Ryan show for sure.

He has to produce though. So far, Nolan doesn't seem to care about trying to keep everyone happy on snap counts.
