Hudler - Holmstrom, are they gone?

Will Holmstrom be with the Wings next year? Is Hudler gone and who should they get to replace him?

I don't think the Wings will bring Holmstrom back. I think Hudler is definitely gone. If Doan is available, I think the Wings should jump on him. If the Wings sign Parise, I think they should still grab Doan.

Why do people act like Holmstrom's trash? I'd take him over Abdelkader.

I like Holmstrom, a lot. He is one of my favorite players; however, based on McCarty, Maltby, and Draper, I don't see the Wings bringing him back unless they bomb in free agency.
I liked Draper. I thought the Wings should have given him an opportunity to compete for a roster spot last season. I know I found myself wishing we had him in the playoffs and in the latter part of the season, but I like players with heart. Players like Holmstrom and Draper come to play every night and they give 110%.

I think all these threads could be wrapped up into the offseason thread, IMO.

I think Holmstrom will be back for one last run before he calls it quits next year. Hudler I'm not sure about.

Agreed we have way too many threads for basically the same thing.
You need centerman that can play two ways and if they donít play two ways in the end, you canít win, because the guy you are counting on canít get himself on the right side of the puck enough. So sure he can score, he can score but his team loses every night, I didnít know that was the objective. I thought winning was the objective. So if you centers canít play down the middle, and canít play without the puck, you have no chance.

I actually think Holmstrom retires. Lidstrom is gone, and he knows he'll be sitting out some time this year (warranted or not).

I think Holmstrom may not have a choice. It will be another sad day because that will mark the end of an era.

I wish the Wings could sign Hudler for a decent price without a no trade clause and then trade him before the ink could dry. That would make me happy, but probably make Happy sad.

Holmstrom is probably gone and we know Hudler is. Even though Hudler scored 25 goals and had 25 assists, I think Holmstrom will be missed the most. I know he will be my me. Anyone think there is even a slight chance the Wings will bring him back?

I'd rather Tomas Holmstrom than Justin Abdelkader if that counts for anything.

Unless there are some big unforseen moves coming Holmstrom will be back.

Tomas Holmstrom will be retiring, per Khan. Hate to see it, but expected it.

We do have a huge influx of forwards. My guess, Gus is up in his place.

No I dont think Gus takes his place since Homer was kind of a fill in 15 min a night guy. I could see Mursak doing it though. He lit it up in Europe and has regained confidence. Im holding back but if his scoring translates he could be a huge surprise in a shortened season.
