    Harrison Smith ejection

Didn't see discussion of this 'cause I didn't see a Titans thread....my bad if I missed it

But was that whole thing as bogus as it appeared to be?
I mean I saw the scuffle, then I saw an official insert himself between them and Harrison push him a bit without having a clue, it seemed, that it was an official.

    Did I miss something?
    gotta love 'referential' treatment

I don't see what's bogus about it. He pushed a ref away from him and got kicked out of a game which is what he had coming to him. After the game he took responsibility for his actions, a lot better than trying to make excuses and blame someone else.

Ya in the heat of the moment he put his hands on the official in an aggressive manner. That's a big no no. The good news is it wasn't bad enough to warrant any sort of suspension.

He clearly pushed the ref. If you do that they eject you instantly. If the NFL didn't it would set a president that you could rough up the refs and intimidate them through physical contact. The NFL cant have that happen. I have no issue with the ejection and hope Smith learned his lesson.

the bogus part, to me, was the WAY the official inserted himself into the situation...to me in a way only another player would, with Harrison reacting as if it WAS a player

an analogy being....two guys get into a scuffle at a bar, an off duty cop jumps in to stop it....but only identifies himself after he's pushed out of the way, yet still tries to ticket the guy for assaulting a police officer................oh wait, isn't that what happened to AP?

By rule it wasn't bogus at all. Is the rule maybe a bit stupid? Idk probably not. Did a little push to the side really merit a disqualification? Idk probably not so there is a lot of grey area but hey I look at it as a good thing because now we got that out of the way and it won't happen again maybe in a more important situation.

Yep, it probably didn't help matters that Goodell was in the stands.

Well Harrison will get a nice fine. I liked how he blamed himself and made no excuses.

He was wrong for doing so but I still forgive him. Rookies make mistakes. Hell move on from it.

    That article does now say:
