Does "Just Win Baby" mean anything anymore?

This is the stuff I'm hearing on different sites and blogs including this one.

    "Its a process"
    "It takes time"
"We need to build through draft picks"
"This is a building process, just give it time"

    Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh........

I'm a Raiders fan for 47 years and never in the history have I heard crap like this. Just win baby should be stamped on my forehead. "Just Win Baby" means win at any cost each year and every year and if we don't have fun trying. Its like we are going into this season with an agenda, a five year plan.... This is the NFL, it moves too fast to "have a plan". Get busy livin or get busy dying.. Poop or get off the pot......

It hasn't meant anything in decades.

If all Al cared about was just winning baby, he wouldn't have kept the best tailback in Raiders history on the bench to prove a sadistic point.

If all Al cared about was winning baby, he wouldn't have traded Gruden and then allow himself to get beaten by Gruden in the Super Bowl...

Once upon a time, all Al cared about was wining, it changed in the late 1980's.

It was a catchy slogan that works during the good times but really holds no significance or value to a losing organization.

It sounds stupid to say it when the best record you've mustered in the last 10 years is 8-8.

In professional sports, specifically in terms of the Raiders, we don't have enough resources to be good this year. Management slowly mortgaged this year's value to bring us the success of the last ten years.

Yes the NFL moves fast, lightening fast. I'm sure that guys like McKenzie, when he talks of a five year plan, has a target of where he thinks the competition will be in five years and where we will need to be to hit that target.

The resources, through smart management, are going to heal up and once again be available to help management set up a roster that has a five or six year window for success instead of one that is only partially open for one season.

Or they can just **** it all up and we can ***** about it for another ten years....

Thanks for proving my point... Its not a "slogan". Its what your organization believes in. Its not a marketing gimmik or something fun to put on your coffee mug. Its what you preach day in and day out. Its what this organization was built on. Its a pride thing.

By the way Stork. Big boy pants? What a sell out. Whats your five year plan for this team? By then we will have 3 different OC's and 2 head coaches. Whats your plan then? Wheel and deal each and every season. Just win Baby...

Man where have you been ? I was starting to think i was the only one on here that felt this way what is going on is we have a lot of people in positions of leadership who feel just like the ones you just called out it will never work because it's not the raider way i don't care how many years we have been losing you don't change the identity of the whole organization because of it. The bears are the bears the cowboys are the cowboys and the raiders are the raiders don't let some of these new age raider fans tell you anything different. We need to get the right people at the top who knows raider football bring a more up to date style but with that same just win baby fire . Until the leadership of the Oakland Raiders begin to understand that we will never get back on top just win baby is a way of life not just some corn ball slogan.

It just means what we used to be.

It is what it is and if we can build a decent franchise again; then maybe we can be who we truly are a bunch of loyal crazy, intelligent, funny people, and our brotherhood means everything. RaiderNation!!! ( The only Nation )

Forty seven years as a fan and you don't expect some downs with you're ups?

You have seen every championship this team has won and three more than a whole bunch of organizations have had and you're mad?

I understand everyone's frustration but a fan of the game would realize it's cyclical. Right now we are on the bottom trying to put something together, rebuilding an entire organization from the top down.

I would love to see this team compete every year, no team competes every year. I can remember when some of the organizations that are now at the top only had two wins a season and eventually it came around.

New owner, new GM, new first year head coach, new staff for him, new schemes for the players.........what were we going to do compete for a championship this season?

These phrases were great when we were winning and they are a punchline for a joke when we are bad. Nothing more nothing less.

Son, I've been here for a pretty long time and have a fairly long body of work that lends some credibility to my opinion. What do you have?

Explain to me how I've sold out. I've held the same view for years now.

That you think we'll continue to have a revolving door policy illustrates just how lacking your perception is. You ***** about it, yet you want to wrap yourself in Al's dusty mantra. You talk out of both sides of your mouth.

All of the "Just win baby", "Commitment to excellence", and "Team of decades" can all go away and be left with the championship Raiders of old.

I'd rather have a clean slate, but those motos have been around too long to simply shake them off with a new owner/staff.

    Oh well.
PLEASE WELCOME THE NEW COACH OF YOUR OAKLAND RAIDERS.....
