Greinke and Upton wouldn't surprise me. Neither would Hamilton and Dickey at this stage.

Apparently Ray Davis is on his way to Nashville. Not sure why he'd be going there unless it was for a big money signing.

Also, according to sources we are making progress on a deal with Hamilton.

Sources: #Rangers, Hamilton making progress. Deal, if reached, likely would be 4 yrs. But still possible another team could beat TEX offer.

Ray Davis and Bob Simpson are both big time Josh Hamilton fans and are where we get our money to sign or trade for big name and big money ball players. I guarantee if he's on his way to Nashville it's to talk to Hamilton and Greinke's agents.

CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports that the Rangers are now working hard to acquire outfielder Justin Upton from the Diamondbacks.
It's apparently part of the three- and four-team scenarios being discussed by the Rangers, Diamondbacks, Indians and Rays. The Rangers have been reluctant to give up Elvis Andrus or top prospect Jurickson Profar in order to acquire Upton, but it's possible something could get done if they get more teams involved. The Rangers are loaded with prospects, so they should be able to entice someone.

Supposedly Olt would be going with some prospects to Cleveland and we would get Upton and MAYBE Shields but its all still crazy.

I would imagine Holland and Olt with 2 or 3 more mid level prospects is what we would be giving up? I'd be okay with either of these 2 teams.

I also think signing AJ Pierzynski needs to start being at the front of our priority list. We need a solid left handed bat in the bottom half of order and it just so happens we have a hole at the catcher position.

I keep seeing Rangers name pop up with Justin Upton and in that case I don't see us keeping Hamilton.

I would rather Hamilton because the drop off from Hamilton to the next guy is huge.

yesterday there were rumors that texas was working on a way to put together an outfield that featured both hamilton and upton.
