Bit of cynicism on my part on both counts regarding the corners. All due respect for Mr. Wren, IMO Jason would be Hamilton like plus speed. My strategy is strength up the middle which in that scenario would make Uggla the weak link.

The problem is..... Hamilton is not great in CF.... He's also injured a lot, him in CF has something to do with that.

Josh in LF.... Would be great defensively and Elite offensively. IMHO..... I wouldn't mind Josh on a short deal in Atl if it's in LF. Looking at Josh and or Jason as everyday CF'er's would be a mistake.

^^that's too much money on the bench, and i don't see a big improvement on the offense.

So Ross I selected Ross because if our rookie 3B falls apart we can option him move prado to 3b and insert Ross into LF. Young could be cheaper but you would have to give up more prospects for him. Young is there so if you have to bench Uggs we have a respectible back up. Ross is at a reasonable price and Andruw is a tad overpriced. How would you construct the team?

i hope the braves stay away from bj upton. he hasn't hit above .250 since 2008, he has a horrible obp, he strikes out a lot, he wont be gettting any faster as he ages, and he's just an overall terrible hitter. good d though.

I will stick with Hanson i guess, trade Delgado and a low level prospect for Willingham and sigh Angel Pagan. Resign Ross, Reed Johnson and utility guy. Sign a veteran reliever like Durbin and we are set.

That's one scenario, we can do lot of moves. Sign Swisher and Shane Victorino.

What's with the Upton love? I don't like the idea of bringing an underachiever onto team where hitters routinely underachieve.

For those discussing the positions of Prado and Heyward, Wren talked about it a few days ago:

    http://blogs.ajc.com/atlanta-braves-...on-to-do-list/
    What’s [Prado's] best position?

“It would probably be in the infield, either second or third. I mean, the ideal situation for him. But that’s the hard part, because you don’t necessarily get to go out on the market and get the perfect guy for your team. So we’ll have to see how that all plays out.”

Could Jason Heyward be an option to play center field?

“For a few days. We think he’s arguably the best right fielder out there, and I think it would diminish him if we played him in center field. I think it would diminish his defensive value. ..."

Justin Upton is the player we need, young, a lot of upside, and "cheaper" with respect to our payroll, Prado would be our 3b.

If we traded for Justin, traded for Hicks, and signed Greinke, I would be elated! However I would think they would want Prado or JT in that package along with Hanson. I wouldn't deal JT as he has more value, upside, and the chance to be an Ace. So do you feel comfortable with Juan or the mentioned trade for Young at 3B, to make this happen?

i'd probably do it. we get an OF and prado is an upgrade. i'd see if another team would first.

i like juan starting at 3rd with prado staying in left mostly and moving to 3rd vs lefties. if we can trade hanson for a LF, i'm fine with prado playing 80% at 3rd and 20% at 2nd since uggla seemed to only do well after being taken out of the line-up.
