I want David Ross, but i wouldn't mind Martin if he isn't getting the 7.5 million he is getting from the Yankees this year.

Mike Napoli is a bust waiting to happen. Does anybody remember that Jason Bay fellow who was suppose to pull balls down the left field line at Citi?

Nothing more fun than debating how to improve from a 74 win team to a 76 win team.

    sad, isn't it?
"Mr. Martin Tanner, Baritone, of Dayton, Ohio made his Town Hall debut last night. He came well prepared, but unfortunately his presentation was not up to contemporary professional standards. His voice lacks the range of tonal color necessary to make it consistently interesting. Full time consideration of another endeavor might be in order."

I hate when financial issues get in the way of us getting a good fit.

But he can hit. We need offense from the catching position and I thought Vmart would be a under the radar suggestion. THat is all no reason to rip an idea I'm just throwing out there. I know it's not likely but when healthy he can hit and my point is we need catcher who can hit better than Thole and Nickeas (also a switch hitter)

Wish he wasn't making so much money and didn't have shot legs.

Exactly, he had a torn ACL. His days of being a catcher were already numbers and now they certainly are. Don't see how that's a "good fit." There is nowhere to play him.

You want to see why the Rangers didn't go all in after his 2011 season....because a season later he hit .227, had 9 stinking doubles, struck out 125 times and didn't stay healthy. Not to mention he's not that great of a defensive catcher to begin with. But as we all know someone will overpay because there aren't alot of catchers who can hit 24 homeruns although Russell Martin came very close. Sign Martin if all possible and platoon him with Shoppach. Sell Thole for some rosin bags and some Big League Chew for the entire Mets roster.
