    Michael Jordan's DRtg

So we all know Michael was an awesome defender. I'm curious if anyone can explain why his DRtg was so weak relative to his actual performance (103 for his career). Anyone have an explanation?

It accounts for possessions but not era relativity so I would check the league environment. A 103 rating nowadays is likely worse than a rating in the 80's/90's (I imagine anyways).

DWS is a better gauge because it accounts for league averages.

I didn't leave my bed, because I was like, 'Man, if I walk outside somebody might just try to hit me with their car or say anything negative to me

Individual DRTG is a REALLY poor indicator of defensive skill. It is heavily influenced by how the entire team plays. Though to be honest, given he played with Pippen and Rodman, that should only benefit him. Sadly good defensive stats are only just coming out, and they are limited to recent seasons.
