we are not the right team for BJ, he'd have to hit 3-5 and that doesnt make us better, just pony up the $ for hamilton, especially if he's 1/2 the price of Prince.

i hope hisashi didnt overachieve but that is the worry side of me... he has a deliberate delivery and stuff & age isnt special but he keeps the ball down with movement and isnt phased when facing a tough lineup so it works.

Heyman says 2/14 with an option for a 3rd year. 6.5 per with a 1M buyout in the 3rd year.

Now I want us to get Maholm and trade Vargas (if Maholm is cheaper).

If we didn't have Guti, I'd be all for BJ Upton. He is a 4 WAR player and we could use that.

If Saunders can take another step forward, he's probably near equal to Upton.

The more I think about it, the more I'd be for Upton. He's a good fielder. Not a great hitter and would be hurt coming here. I guess it all depends on the asking price. Guti can't stay healthy and I'm ready to move on and Upton is a good replacement for Guti. My only issue is that Guti may actually be over his health problems. If he is, I'd rather go for a good hitter in RF or a guy that can mash RHP to platoon with Wells.

There are just so many options to improve this team even marginally.

He is a 4 fWAR player, 3 rWAR player, but I don't really see how that works when looking at the rest of his stats. He is a little above average offensively, but that's about it.

I don't like his attitude and stuff either

He isn't worth 50M to me. We need offense, and BJ doesn't bring a ton of that.

LF- Saunders CF- Gutierrez RF- Wells/Thames
LF- BJ Upton- Gutierriez/Saunders RF- Wells/Thames
LF- Wells/Thames CF- Gutierrez/Saunders RF- Swisher
LF- Gordon CF- Saunders/Guti RF- Swisher

Get that one done.

There are so many situations, but I think something like the first three are likely.
