Last year between both A and AA: 0.313 BA, 0.428 OBP, 0.478 SLG, 0.907 OPS

Only 9 HRs, but 42 doubles. Fenway's RCF gap and deep center should help with his doubles too.

He is a great hitter overall. Decent speed and plus defense and arm in CF too.

Not to mention he will steal some bases too. Not a burner, but a great instinct baserunner. Peak years 20-30 steals. Could be a 10-15 homerun, 40-45 doubles, and 20-30 steal guy. In his peak that is.

Not to mention that JBJr has had solid OBPs in the minors, which tells me that he's a patient hitter, which is a definite plus.

Yeah that's the most important part of his offensive game I would say

I would love it if he took over for Ellsbury, and showed that a hitter with a .375 OBP that runs the bases well, but only steals net 15 bases a year is as or more valuable then one who has a .340 OBP and steals 70 net bases.

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

Jason Grilli's agent, Gary Sheffield, said eight teams are interested in his client and three of them have already made offers.
"We’re not in a hurry," Sheffield said. "There are some things we want to look at a little further. We’re not sure the market has fully developed for Jason." It's no surprise that Grilli is in demand after posting a 2.91 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 90 strikeouts over 58 2/3 innings this season. The Red Sox are among the teams showing interest.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe hears that the Red Sox have some interest in Stephen Drew.
The Sox figure to be linked to just about any shortstop that's available via free agency or trade. Asdrubal Cabrera also reportedly has piqued their interest. Drew might be looking to sign a short-term deal in hopes of re-establishing his value after a couple injury-shortened, lackluster seasons.

Nick Cafardo of the Boston Globe writes that the Red Sox and Diamondbacks are two of the teams interested in trading for Asdrubal Cabrera.
They're obvious fits, as are the Cardinals, who are also reportedly interested in dealing for Cabrera. The 26-year-old batted .270/.338/.423 with 16 home runs and 68 RBI in 616 plate appearances this past season for the Indians and is signed for a pretty reasonable $16.5 million through 2014.

Not interested in trading Bogaerts, Barnes, Bradley, Webster, RDLR, Swihart, Owens, or Jacobs for Cabrera.

Brentz + Workman + Iglesias, sure, but thats probably both not enough and less than what AZ would offer.
