In my opinion, if the Red Sox limit is 5 years on Hamilton, the they win. Because we have not heard any body who is willing to go to 5 years, let alone 4.

Backup
i think the sox xould try and blow hamilton away with a 2-3 year contract in the 25 mil range. After this season they have even more coming off the books with lackeys contract, then ortiz the next season, there are a few ways to jsutify paying him 2-3 million per year then anyone else.
Very true BoSox, but a two or three wouldn't get it done. It's more like a 4 year deal with an option for a fifth year.
Thing with Hamilton is he saw what Werth got who is an extremely lesser player than him, and he was the same age as Hamilton is now when he hit the market.....

possiby...I wouldnt be upset on a 4 or 5 yr deal. But the werth and crawford deals were shockers....the money fielder got last yr late in the FA period....another shocker.....I can see JH getting an absurd contract from the Orioles or Rangers. Remember Duquette is involved with the O's now and he liked to make that splsh such as signing Manny, trading for Pedro. Plus I feel the O's are still in awe on how JH lit them up with 4 jacks in one game last year lol.

Really doubt hed rather play in Cleveland than Boston. It's just a way for him to have leverage in terms of salary.
