Absolutely terrible. When I goto my buddies house to play cards, I always stop at our high school's gym on the way home to shoot hoops around 1 a.m.
Now I'm not comparing myself with no pressure on me to a college athlete with the game on the line.... but I usually nail about 85% of my free throws. It's the 2nd easiest shot in the game, next to the layup/dunk. It's the same damn shot each time! I don't understand how anyone can be that terrible at it.
I would agree if it's a 1 time thing. A chance to win a car. A chance for money. Or the chance to win the game.
But 1st half/early 2nd half free throws shouldn't have nerves or anxiety. Especially at home when the crowd isn't a distraction.
The saying 'practice makes perfect' is true in this situation. If I was the coach, they would be shooting thousands of free throws a week. Games are decided more times than not at the free throw line. Iowa has lost 2 games already due to it.
Was at the Penn State/IU game tonight....sooooo boring.
