Unfortunately, with the Dodgers getting Greinke.... Hamilton will almost definitely re-sign with Texas. The only other "big" move left, would be trading for Granderson... which would cost even MORE 'spects. Otherwise it's Ross...because there hasnt been any real interest in Swisher on the Phils end.
when does Ruben show interest?

what about Brian Wilson as a setup man on a one year deal? i think I just threw up in my mouth a little...
though its wasnt trademark Ruben he filled the holes with little cost. any smart Phillies fan knows hes up to something i guess now we play the waiting game,

since the Greinke thread is closed let me say this: HOLY ****ING ****... wow... why?

Agree...wtf. For Greinke??
LA has a logjam at SP and we need one, how about a few prospects for Billingsly-ask them to eat some contract maybe 3 million so 6 a year for him as your 4th SP

by filling 2 holes w/ trades, #phillies could spend for OF. cody & swisher r options. an outside chance at hamilton.
Depends on who you talk to. Roughly half of scouts will tell you that he won't reach the majors for more than a cup of tea.
Broken down by components, he's a poor fielder at 3B but could become passable with more work. I haven't heard or read anything about his arm, so I assume it is acceptable for the position. He isn't known for his foot speed either.
At the plate, his hit and power tools are both solid-average at best. The total package plays up a bit because he has good baseball intelligence.
None of his tools are considered to have upside aside from the fielding.
Clearly the organization is hyping him, but I don't see him as a long term solution. Best case scenario, he turns in a couple 0-2 WAR seasons before somebody else comes along.

I'm willing to put money that a "big move" isn't currently in the works. The emphasis of this offseason seems to be on future flexibility.

I realized just now that Darin Ruf might be an exact clone of Michael Morse...
