I'm looking at rosters around the league, trying to find good trade partners for Ruben, and I keep coming back to the Angels.

Guys like Boujos, Kendrick, Aybar, Callaspo, and Trumbo are very intriguing. Kendrick had a down year, I'd love to see them go after him. That team has a hell of a lot of talent.

A couple attractive buy low candidates from yesterday's news include Dallas Braden, Joey Devine, and Scott Feldman.

Feldman would be the only one who might cost more than incentives.

I expect he'll be rather pricey considering he's a completely unknown quantity.

Casey McGehee was non-tendered as expected. He'll get a guaranteed contract, but it won't be for much. It will be low enough (pre-incentives) that he can be treated as a spring training invitee to compete with Frandsen and Galvis.

Not an attractive option obviously. I think I'd rather re-sign Polanco for $2 mil to put it in perspective.

Jose Valverde.. too old? too pricey? Saw he was non-tendered maybe a decent late inning reliever short term..

Valverde (and Soria for that matter) is going to enter the market asking for a closers job and the attendant payday. In terms of talent, stuff, and expected performance, he should make maybe $2 mil a year. He's not going to take that from anybody unless he's left holding his hand out in February/March.

The story is a little different with Soria as there's a possibility he could return to his previously elite form. It's tough to bet on that though, especially for a team with the financial constraints of the Phillies. They have some dollars, but they need to be allocated to OF/3B.
