The Bears aren't going to give Jay $100million.
Why would we waste a draft pick on a young, unproven QB when we know what we're going to get out of Jay? And now that we have a Jay-BMarsh connection, why would we disrupt that?

Also, it's not easy to stay healthy behind our Oline.
Would anyone be surprised if the Bears bring back Webb as the starting LT?
You may think you know but you're horribly blind...
Thats such a ridiculous quote that its not even funny.
Jay isn't injury prone. He missed 1 game due to a concussion and 4(?) due to a broken thumb. Its not like the broken thumb is a recurrent issue.
Not to mention, RG3, the guy he compares Cutler to, missed just as many games as Jay this season. And its not like you can easily draft a franchise QB when you're not picking in the top 5.

I just realized that both Bowe and Albert are Free Agents for KC next year. Given how bad that team is, I don't see anybody wanting to resign there and they might only be able to franchise Bowe.
Edit: Come to think of it, they're more likely to franchise Albert than Bowe given Bowe's injury and the fact that he was already franchised last year![]()

I think Jay will get a 3 year extension after this season.
I project a 4 yr 52 million extension for Jay.
With the 20th pick, the Chicago Bears select...
Kyle Long, G/OT, Oregon
Fred Davis, perfect TE for you guys. Dont know how good of a blocker he is, but that is why you have Spaeth.
Cribbs, perfect speedy WR. Can line up inside and outside. Perfect complementary WR to free safety help off of Marshall. DO NOT SAY CRIBBS IS THE SAME AS HESTER.
Jake Long, will protect Cutlers blind side, and will make the ENTIRE line better, because you wont have to worry about Helping out Webb. Dont know how expensive he will be.
I am making these assumptions without knowing current players contracts coming off the books, cap space, etc.
The Quest for the Cup. Round 2
Isn't Davis coming off of an Achilles injury? I don't know...
Scenario for you guys....
1. Bears do not make the playoffs or are 1 and done as a wildcard
2. lovie gets fired
3. Urlacher doesnt come back
Would you consider either trading or letting Peppers go?
If you consider Hester, Urlacher, and possibly Peppers cap hits off the books, that is a **** ton of money they can spend in the offseason.
They would be able to afford the following...
Sign Jake Long (Peppers money)
Sign Jared Cook (Quality TE should come cheaply imo)
Sign Danny Amendola (a true slot receiver and punt returner)
Sign Ryan Lilja (Veteran G who should come at a decent price)
With these additions, the offense is completely revamped and could carry this team next season. In the mean time, you rebuild the Defense around McClellin, Melton, Wooten, Briggs, and the entire secondary.
I think this is realistic and if it means the Bears have to give up Peppers, Urlacher, and Hester..... Id do it in a heartbeat for a solid line, a good TE, and a receiving core that consists of Marshall, Jeffrey, and Amendola.
And lastly, imagine Sean Payton Head Coaching this team....![]()
