    I understand, but......

I understand that they want to run their schemes and eventually bring in players who fit this type of scheme, but why can't we do this while winning games or at the least contending. Training camp, OTA's, preseason, and we are still struggling to adapt? He says they need to use their players to their full potential, but then they change everything, and nobody is playing to their potential. Like fitting puzzle pieces places they don't fit. Last year we had a decent offense and an inconsistent defense, then you add that with all the penalties and injuries to our starting QB and RB and we miss the playoffs. So why not leave the offense the way it was and fix what needs fixing? Not overhaul the entire team even the stuff that works, like special teams. I've never seen the special teams this horrendous before. Hue knew how to assess talent and use it correctly. The new regime obviously does not. Unless they planned on scrapping this team from the get go. Hue is just sitting in Cinci laughing at RM and DA. Some people are talking about an entire overhaul of a potential top 10 offense because some coaches want to fix stuff that was never broken. Does anyone else find this disturbing. Below is a pic of DA after getting our ***** handed to us, how bout that, do you find that disturbing?

    Well....for continuitys sake....

The center was hurt, he's like the QB of the line, and he is learning a new system. Then the RT went down. I remember the last time we went to ZBS, I said give them 8 weeks, it takes time, and all of the sudden huggy bear looked good when chicken legs went down.

Then you have WR's and the injuries that decimated our core. Week one we had an I drafted FA and hagan come in. Ford got hurt. Then DHB got smashed. That doesn't make it easy on the QB to build rapport, although Palmer is doing a good job.

Add in the DB's all getting hurt and any team that might have this problem is going to get smashed in the air. Add to that our DL is underperforming and it's hard to see success.

We've seen a lot of bad luck this year bro. Sometimes that's how the cookie crumbles. The good news is the lack of penalties will benefit us in ways you can't imagine. The amount of yardage we are not giving up is astronomical in comparison and a statistic everyone should be proud of. The run D has looked better too, and some weird stuff like condo going down has impacted games.

Second half of the season will be much different, trust me.

but why scrap an entire offense that was 9th in the league last year. We were 7th in the league in rushing (#1 before for a while), this year we are 31st???? I already knew the defense would be streaky, I mean look at last year. But I thought we'd at least see some scoring. 7th to 31st, that's a hard pill to swallow, especially when they say they aren't switching from the ZBS.

I'm no fan of the ZBS - but off the top of my head?

Most major college football programs run a zone-blocking system. The spread teams run the zone; most of the teams running an NFL system run the zone; most of the teams, in general, run the zone.

So, for the foreseeable future, the majority of offensive linemen and running backs coming out of college are versed in the zone scheme, and not the power scheme.

Also - look at Denver and Carolina. Zone teams. Take one back out, plug another one in, all the while gaining 3-5 yards a carry for the majority of a game.

Trust me, I preferred the PBS - and I'm more then a little pissed the Raiders aren't using that stuff more. But, when push comes to shove, it's not completely insane to be running a different blocking scheme.

If McFadden can't hack it, just find someone who can. I don't give a damn who succeeds in Oakland - I want the team to win, not an individual to flourish.

But why do it with the players we have in place? we had no $ or draft picks to fit these schemes, so why not use what works is all Im saying? If they TRULY want to win NOW and not years from now, they would do what works with what we have. Those players coming out of college aren't here yet, and we have the personnel to stick with the PBS and be successful. Seems like they are just scrapping the year to wait till they can fill the team with their players. They have one of the best backs in the NFL for the PBS, USE HIM CORRECTLY, instead of wasting his talents and looking like fools in the process.

I don't see us being any better if hue and PBS were here....

Against SD condo cost us the game....hue couldn't stop that

Agains Miami, sure he might've pulled that off

Against PIT, no way...he would've handed the game over and penalties would've cost us that game

Against Den, we were screwed with no secondary any way you look at it.

Plain and simple, Hue would not have a better record right now given the injuries.

Who keeps saying "win now?" cause I havn't heard that since crazy Hue left. All I hear is "change is coming" so from all I've heard this is what I expected and the experts predicted. I'd rather build up a team that can contend for years than build around our **** base and make one playoff run with an early exit and THEN rebuild. Its better to start now then later. We were nowhere near competing last year and we needed a lot more than a couple pieces.

I'm far from being a coach....I thought a good coach would evaluate his players and then develop a system that would work based on what he had, NOT what or where he wanted the team to be.
Maybe the reality is that there are some players that don't fit the system.
I really don't want to hear that they were "close" to making plays on defense. "Close" doesn't get it done.
I must be missing something, because I don't like what I see.
They struggled in the pre season, and they're still struggling now.
    I was hoping for 8 or 9 wins....maybe I was optimistic.
It hurts me to say it....but I don't enjoy watching them play this way.

To answer your question, yes, we are scrapping this year in order to succeed in the future. I understand what your saying about playing to our strengths while we still have these players in place. To be devil's advocate though, if we were to wait til next year to implement the new system offensively, then the learning curve being experienced now by the players would happen the beginning of next year. Start with the new system now and they'll have a year of experience with it under the belt when we field a better team.

This right here is how I should have worded what I was trying to say.

This team has no identity, and from the looks of it, neither do the coaches. No one stands out.

The talent doesn't give the team an identity either.

    - We have an explosive RB but we can't run on anybody.
    - We have a "gunslinger" QB who likes to take shots down the field, but we can't pass block, the receivers can't catch (outside of Moore), the back-ups disappear when on the field.
    - We have a "beastly" D-line- can't pass rush, can't get penetration, it's not dominant
    - Best punter in the league, has more blocked punts in 4 games this season than the rest of his career combined

    need I go on?

How about T.J. Yates if we don't get a high enough pick to take a QB? He is in this system and played well down the stretch and into the playoffs last year. Just a thought I had.

We didn't become the team with the highest winning percentage in all of sports doing it like the rest of the Nfl we are the raiders win now not later is what got us to the top and ten years of bad football dose not change that nor should it change our identity .
