We need Jahvid Best back ASAP

All these dip & dunk drop offs to Mikel LeShoure & Joquie Bell are basically wasted plays...our playoff chances may be dashed before Best laces 'em up(if he laces up), but I can see it already we desperately need a receiving back in the back field if these check downs continue...IMO, Best is probably our biggest playmaker outside of CJ.

What you think? I know there's bigger issues(Special Teams), but solely on offense, I'm betting if we turn this **** around it will be because of him taking pressure off our normal WRs, I know putting faith in a guy that hasn't played in nearly a year is crazy but it's either that or start talking about the April Draft in October

Yep, I remember in the KC game last year the announcers said the KC coaches said they were more worried about Jahvid Best than they were Calvin Johnson. I laugh when people say he wasn't a big loss or whatever last year....dude is a playmaker who the defense HAS to account for or they will get burned. He opens it up a lot for other players.

problem is even if he comes back how long can he last. My hopes of Best becoming anything other than a bad draft choice is getting less likly as this season progresses.

At this point it would be more of a bonus to get him back than anything. Even if he does come back I don't expect him to stay healthy for long.

we need him back bad,If we dont develop a consistent running game the opposing teams safeties are just going to sit way out there and never allow stafford to get more than these little 5 or 10 yard passes. Those little 5 yard passes they are giving us is where Best will make them pay but how much longer do we really have with Best we are just fighting the inevitable at this point which sucks because Best is the second best reciever we have as well. When he was healthy and we were 5-0 our offense was really kicking.

So Best is the answer for the lions? That's laughable. 1st off best may never play again. 2nd he will never be our starting back again bc he can't run between the tackles. 3rd leshoure has great hands out of the back field with a great side step that can make anyone miss. 4th idc who the f-uck is running the ball for the lions but they aren't going to b successful with single back runs from behind the center or in shotgun. 5th I don't believe I've scene a screen call with leshoure yet (which was a great way we utilized Best last year). 6th Best is the least of the Lions problems. 7th the list could keep on going on and on and on with reasons why Best wouldn't have changed anything to do with the Lions win record this year

Can Best play CB or tackle on ST? If not, even with Best this team still sucks right now. Best can help the team right now by applying stick'em to Pettigrew's gloves.

wow never ever ever thought I would agree with ahoda once now im agreeing a second time wow.avid best return will help this team for one reason he has played with this line longer than bell and leshoure but thats it.
I stated the lions are horrible closers and people were like . well last night the detroit tigers showed you what a closer does they needed one game for the divison title and they won and didnt wait til the last game. the lions lack killer instinct.

Javid is much needed. I love football but its not worth him living a normal life. I pray that he remain healthy enough to impact the team in a positive way & not suffer any injuries.

IF he comes back...how long will it be for?? One game? Two? Maybe the remainder of the season? Bottom line...I believe everyone agrees, it's only a matter of time until he's knocked back out. And in regards to long-term goals for the team...does taking away first string run in game hurt the development of Leshoure?

I guess as long as we used them both as kind of a change of pace running back by committee type deal, then it could really be helpful. Putting Best out there definitely forces the safeties to keep an eye on him, and not exclusively on CJ.

    Scrap Detroit!!

If we want Jahvid to come back, we need to improve our record. His return is risky/questionable enough. They are not going to put him out there with a 1-3 record.

It's one of those catch 22s where we need him to get better but we need to get better to get him to play.

That being said, even if we are competitive, I think his career is over.

Which is a shame because if there is one guy who can pull those safeties closer to the line of scrimmage, it is him.

I dont think our record is going to indicate if Best come back or not.
