    October 1-3: Phillies (80-79) @ Nationals (96-63)

    ---Philadelphia Phillies (80-79) @ Washington Nationals (96-63)
    October 1-3, 2012

    Monday @ 7:05 PM ET

Kyle Kendrick (10-12, 4.08 ERA) vs. John Lannan (4-0, 4.23 ERA)

Phillies: One win shy of tying a career high in wins, Kendrick takes the mound for his final start of the year. He hopes to fare better against the Nats this time around, as he gave up three homers in just two-plus innings against them on Wednesday at home.

Nationals: Lannan will face the Phillies after beating them Wednesday, when he allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings. The lefty has won his last two starts against Philadelphia after going 1-12 in his first 15 starts against the Nats' division rival.

    Tuesday @ 7:05 PM ET

---------------TBA (0-0, -.-- ERA) vs. Gio Gonzalez (21-8, 2.89 ERA)

    Phillies: Scouting report coming soon.

Nationals: Gonzalez could pass several milestones in his final regular-season start, nearing 200 innings with his 22nd win in sight. The NL Cy Young Award candidate beat the Phillies his last time out, striking out six as he allowed three runs over six innings.

    Wednesday @ 1:05 PM ET

------------Cliff Lee (6-8, 3.12 ERA) vs. Edwin Jackson (9-11, 4.13 ERA)

Phillies: Lee did his part in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Marlins at Marlins Park. He pitched splendidly, allowing three hits, one run and striking out five in seven innings. But his night followed a familiar path: No run support.

Nationals: Jackson will try to rebound from a disastrous outing in St. Louis, where he allowed nine runs in 1 1/3 innings. Manager Davey Johnson remains confident in Jackson, but a solid outing to end the regular season would help rebuild his morale.

Christ, it's gonna be another long night for me.....I sneak off to bed early when it looks like the win is in the bag...which has been less frequent recently. Lannan is not convincing at all so far.

It does not matter how we won it the matter of fact is we did and we are the champs of the NL east but they do need to hit better but Kendrick pitched a hell of a game.

This team will **** the bed in the playoffs as far as I'm concerned. Have had WEEKS to take the division, and it takes to the LAST series in the season, but also a win by another team to get it done.

    Unacceptable.

Braves had one heck of a ride to keep the Nats on their toes. Lets not forget that DC still has the best record.

And by the way, SF is losing, Cincy lost and so did Atlanta. Not every team heads into the playoff with a long winning streak.

Congrats as Bravo95 said Well deserved division title. I know we gave you crap (I was guilty of it too) earlier in the year in the Braves forum about the manner in which you won some games but everybody says crazy things when a frustrating loss is fresh etc. Over the course of 162 games you guys were the better team, the standings do not lie. I have to admit it's a cool storyline, I probably would have been rooting hard for you all if you were not in my teams division. Hopefully we can meet up in the playoffs and add some more history to the rivalry.

Hopefully the playoffs are filled with excitement much like the regular season.
