Report: Warriors Will offer Steph a contract extension

    http://www.cbssports.com/nba/blog/ey...-stephen-curry

The Warriors already made one pretty clear gesture to Stephen Curry that they're committed to him -- they traded Monta Ellis.

The next step would be locking him up long-term with a big extension. And according to the Oakland Tribune, that's becoming a probability

According to multiple team sources, the club is committed to retaining Curry long term; the question is for how much. Discussions were promising before Curry's camp suspended negotiations until after the preseason games. The expectation is that Curry will sign a contract extension by the Oct. 31 deadline.
If you want to read the rest of the article be my guest, but it probably wont tell you anything that you didn't already know.

I think if we lock him up Steph would be more likely to ply hurt and play up to his potential. The Currys are from the south, where obligations and contracts still mean something.

Just look at how Monta responded after the moped incident. Currys also the pride of the family, and he won't let his dad down by taking a big contract and then taking a step back.

Doesn't seem like Stephs nature to take big money and then tank his career. His last names not Beans.

Beacause he had an injury season? What about the other 2 years he's been here?? Does he not deserve stability?? Like I said, the man will play better with a contract, not worse.

If anything, by locking him up now the warriors are showing confidence in their young leader. The old warriors would wait and see, and then lose the respect of the other players, potential signings, and from Curry himself.

seriously, dude. He tried to be a leader for this team. Too bad his supporting team was bad and by that, I mean coaches as well.

you are still beating that dead horse. move on.

What are you talking about? Lol I was saying that Monta responded like an allstar when he got back from injury since he didn't want to take the guaranteed money and play like a slouch, even though he suffered a severe ankle injury. He actually came back better..

Dude if you misread my quote just let me know and Ill rephrase it. I don't remember ever beating on Monta for how he played after getting injured on the moped.

Monta and Curry share the commonality of being raised in the south. It seems to me that players from that region respond differently to guaranteed money than guys from the big eastern and western cites. Look at guys like KG or Monta, I believe Curry has the type of values that those guys share.

True, Monta responded back with fantastic numbers..but let's be honest here, Monta = athletic, and Curry = skilled. Monta had a surgery like it was nothing and BEASTED.

Who knows how Curry has healed..

I'm hoping he's 100% as he says he is, and I have faith in him..it's just that right now the status quo is that his new ankle is yet to be tested in a NBA game

Yeah but very very very different backgrounds.

Curry grew up in an NBA player's house with his dad as role model

Monta grew up in the ghetto in Jackson, Mississippi.

    very different environments.

Ok montas injury vs currys ankle sprain is seriously being compared. Currys new ankle? Are you kidding me?

In big games, players are expected to play through ankle rolls before they are 100%. Montas situation was not one that could have been played through, and infact- I think monta actually came back early.

If currys ankle was ok last april- its definitely ok in october.
A role model if I ever knew one

Currys ankle wasn't as severe as compared to the number of games that he missed.

In a way I think the FO is giving him the guaranteed money since they probably told him to stay on the sideline during operation tank and since his reputation has taken a hit since reports indicate that he may have been ready to go as soon as early March.

A few more years on his contract should be the least they can do since many fans think his ankle is made out of silly putty and his career is done lol.
