The Jets have fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, as expected, per league sources.

Wow. Thanks for the update. I was wondering why they were waiting. Perhaps they could no longer wait on a GM to be named and stopped him from hanging out there. Or they needed some thing to talk about during today's press conference.

Jets will have 3 offensive coordinators in 3 yrs. Top names on #Jets wish list are Norv Turner, Cam Cameron.

Sanchez: Most impressive OC killer in the league. Has also gone through two QB coaches.

This is great news. Three out of five of the guys that needed to be canned are: Tannebaum, Sparano, Cavanaugh.

Next up: Rex and Sanchez. The culture of this team needs to be changed. Hopefully Pettine is gone and everything is revamped.

The New York Jets have fired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano, who was informed of his dismissal Monday night, league and team sources said Tuesday morning.

The official move was made after a meeting between Jets owner Woody Johnson and coach Rex Ryan.

The Jets were ranked 30th in total offense in Sparano's first season in the role, doomed by their unsettled quarterback position.

Mark Sanchez struggled all season and ultimately was removed from the starting spot for Greg McElroy in Week 16, though he started the finale after McElroy was ruled out with a concussion.

And Tim Tebow didn't have much of an impact after he was acquired in a trade with the Broncos as New York's Wildcat package was ineffective and the team wasn't sure how to use him in other packages.

While Sparano may have shared Rex's Ground & Pound Philosophy he had only one season's play calling experience, in Dallas, on his resume.

I am hoping that we getr Norv as the OC.

As we get further away from the season, i am agreeing more with this philosophy.
At first I thought we should keep Rex but now I'm fine if he goes. I don't like the way he's handled things for the second year in a row.

Sanchez? We can't get rid of our starter... oh lord

just a hire that made absolutely zero sense from the get-go. What a debacle, we did what needed to be done though.

I have a feeling Cam Cameron would not be the best choice either and Norv is already not interested ..... I have a feeling it's going to r someone out of the blue

Except pettine was probably the only one who deserved to stay. what he did with an injury plague/aging (bart/calvin) defense was impressive. yes he had talent, but we had the #2 Pass D without REVIS!! Thats gotta say something. Cro stepped up we all know that. The safety's were a big help. The biggest thing was how often they were forced to go back on the field with all of sanchex's turnovers. Pettine probably looked at the cap situation for next year, knowing we're gonig to have to gut his D, and then rejected the contract extension.

ESPN just said Norv might be going to Dallas. If I was him I'd much rather go to Dallas. At least they have a QB and good weapons.

I don't understand why you guys haven't fired Rex yet. I get getting rid of other inefficiencies, but Rex seems like a huge problem to your team.
