Should/Will Helton get as much respect as Chipper?

Todd Helton has decided that the 2013 season will be his last, Will/should Helton get as much respect from fans and players as Chipper has this year. (standing ovations from opposing fans, bobble head night, ceremony at end of year, getting put on the NL all star team even if his numbers are not as great as others, etc....) Not taking anything away from Chipper, he has had an all star year, but at the time of the All Star game, his numbers were not as great as they are now at the end of the year.

Both played their entire careers for their respective franchise. If Helton decides that next year is his last, they both would have played their last season in their age 40 season. I think that they are very, very similar. Chipper is arguably the best player in Braves franchise history other than Hank Aaron. Helton is arguably the best Rockie in franchise history period. Chipper might have a shot at another ring this year, but Helton's Rockies will most likely not have a shot next year. Either way, i think Todd Helton has earned the same respect that Chipper Jones has earned throughout his career. Do you?

Chipper's got a ring. Just an assumption, I don't think they'll do the same for Helton. I have no real proof as to why, but I just believe people see Chipper as more of an icon than Helton.

When you look at the splits for Helton, his career isn't exactly mind-blowing. I dislike Jones a lot for talking **** about Toronto but I'd take him any day of the week over Helton.

i think he should, didnt put a poll up cuz i want to see peoples reasoning. i think he deserves the respect, just like chipper. im sure he'll get it from Colorado, but maybe not nationally.

He was still a very good hitter. It's not like he was a Carlos Gonzalez. But I don't think his numbers would be as close to Chipper's if he played somewhere else.

The splits aren't THAT big. He goes from being a very good hitter on the road to Barry Bonds at home. Unlike CarGo who goes from Pujols at home to scrub on the road

plus a lot of players hit better at home anyways, so i dont think the splits are dramatic enough to say that he was only good because of coors
