Lou Williams (torn ACL) has been told he'll need 6-9 months of rehab.

It's the standard timeline for an ACL rehab these days. Williams is expected to undergo surgery sometime in the next week, giving him a decent chance to be ready for opening night of the 2013-14 season. Williams is under contract through the 2014-15 season.

Gridiron&Hoops wondered why the Hawks don't get much support -- games like this one tonight are why, happens a lot every year. The Bulls were without their three best players and still played with more heart and out-executed the Hawks. Offensive rebounding, turnovers, missing easy shots, and free throws... same old story. Josh basically disappeared on both ends after halftime -- if you're going to whine about not getting All Star noms and max money, this would have been a game to show it. Nope.

You don't often see the Bulls get physically manhandled (especially on the boards), you don't hear/read about their best players whining to the media, and you rarely question their head coach (aside from the heavy minutes he plays some of their key guys). But you see all of that with the Hawks, that's how it's been for years and that's why attendance is where it is.

Josh Smith and Horford had double-doubles for the Hawks. Smith finished with 19 points and 13 rebounds and Horford added 14 points and 12 rebounds. The Hawks also got double-digit scoring from Jeff Teague (16) and Kyle Korver (10).

Troublesome for the Hawks was the fact Smith had just three second-half points, on two shots.

“We just didn’t play very well,” Korver said. “We didn’t play hard for a while. The Bulls don’t beat themselves. They don’t lose back-to-back very often. They came out and really took it to us.”

The Hawks rallied from a nine-point second-quarter deficit to take a 44-43 lead into halftime. After taking their first lead of the game, 36-35, with 3:08 remaining in the first half the Hawks fell behind by five points before scoring the final six points of the half. Smith had 16 first-half points for the Hawks.

The Bulls regained the nine-point advantage by the end of the third quarter, 69-60, with the help of an 8-0 run to start the second half.

“I think we relied on the jump shot and that put us in a hole,” DeShawn Stevenson said. “We didn’t play defensive as well in the second half. They made shots. We didn’t box out. They had a lot of rebounds.”

Zaza Pachulia (Achilles) will not travel with the Hawks for Tuesday's game in Atlanta.

The good news is that Zaza was able to practice on Monday and he is "hoping to return soon." Al Horford is playing huge minutes with Pachulia unavailable, with Ivan Johnson also stepping into a bigger role off the bench.
Devin Harris (ankle) will not travel with the Hawks for Tuesday's game vs. the Pacers.

This is Harris' 17th DNP of the season and his second in a row. Consider him questionable to face the Grizzlies on Wednesday and the Hornets on Friday.

Trading Rudy Gay was eventually gonna be the right move, but I still can't believe the Grizzlies front office did that when they finally had a team capable of reaching the ECF. Should've let it play out and then offered him up over the summer. I'll take the win though.

WHy would reaching the ECF matter to them? They are in the West.

Obviously that was a typo. Be careful trying to mock someone else's grammar though.

Jeff Teague stayed hot on Wednesday with 22 points, 13 assists and two 3-pointers on 7-of-10 shooting in a win over the Grizzlies.

Memphis allows the fewest points per game to opposing backcourts, so this was a great line for Teague, who is now averaging nearly 20 points, eight assists, 1.4 steals and 1.6 3-pointers on 52 percent shooting over his last five games. Keep rolling him out there, as his early mid-season slump ended about three weeks ago.

Good sign against that team, but we know he can do this every so often. The Hawks need consistency from him.

Can't let the slumps (and Drew) kill his confidence.

Why the extra?..... You should have just left it at typo, no one was mocking you.
