What yall think about Quantareus Smith? The kid from Western Kentucky that tore his ACL towards the end of the year. He's obviously gonna go late in the draft if he goes at all, but if you have seen any of his games or watch any tape, the kid pops.

This is against the best offensive line in college football, three sacks and a forced fumble

    Thoughts?
i hate the Greene selection but love the Margus Hunt Selection in the 4th although i have us taking him in the 3rd round in my mock. The guy is 6'8 280lbs we can place him at LE and bring him inside next to McCoy on obvious passing downs to let Bowers get on the field. HUGE BOOST to the pass rush, I love it!!! Also we do not have a 7th round pick... we gave that to New England.

    This is my Mock
1- Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
    2- Eric Reid, FS, LSU
    3-Margus Hunt, DE/DT, SMU
    4-Nico Johnson, OLB, Alabama
    4-Kwame Geathers, DT, Georgia
    5- Philip Lutzenkirchen, TE, Auburn
    6-Shamarko Thomas, SS, Syracuse

then I have us targeting a couple free agents
    DT Terrence Knighton
    WR/KR Josh Cribbs
    RB/FB Brian Leonard
    OT Goster Cherilus

I realized the 7th round, I just didnt go back and change it lol. No corner in FA? Why do you hate the Greene pick? Nico plays inside, I never heard anything about him moving outside, is that you projecting him to move outside?

Overall decent draft, would make a lot of sense on a lot of levels.

I would cry if we were able to pull In Banks and Reid, but its unlikely. Who knows tough, last year I was argueing between D. Martin and L. David for our 2d rd pick, and we ended up with both.

most scouts have Reid falling into the second round at the moment. unless he blows everyone out of the water at the combine i think he will stay in the second round and we could possibly trade up for him if need be

i was thinking about taking DRC but i dont think they will spend the type of money this year. we may pick up a Corner as a stop gap if Banks struggles as a starter. but with the amount we paid Wright we are going to give him another year to prove himself.
    CB- Banks, Johnson, M.Lewis
    CB- Wright, L.Lewis, Gorrer, Tandy
    FS- Barber, Reid, Tandy
    SS- Barron, Black, Thomas
im okay with that depth chart.

As for Kaseem Greene, he is smaller than David. most draft boards have him listed at 230lbs but scouts are saying he is smaller than that. Its likely because of his size that he would be a better fit at SS. I know scouts were saying the same thing about David but Greene would play the strong side in our Defense and i dont think he can be physical enough for the posittion. That is why I seleced Nico Johnson he is 6'3 245lbs and plays ILB in a 3-4 system so moving him to the SLB spot would not be a huge change. But that is my opinion.

I thought we could be alright just by adding banks and Reid but after we let a rookie throw for almost 400 yards on us and Jason Avant get 133 recieving yards on us we need more help

1- Johnthan Banks, CB, Mississippi State
    2- Eric Reid, FS, LSU
    3- Margus Hunt, DE/DT, SMU
4- Travis Howard, CB, Ohio State
    4- Nico Johnson, LB, Alabama
    5- Philip Lutzenkirchen, TE, Auburn
    6- Shamarko Thomas, SS, Syracuse

then I have us targeting a couple free agents
    CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
    DT Terrence Knighton
    WR/KR Josh Cribbs
    RB/FB Brian Leonard

so the defense would look something like this next year
    LE- Hunt, Bowers
    DT- McCoy, Gibson
    DT- Knighton, Miller
    RE-Clayborn, Te'o-Nesheim
    SLB- Black, Johnson, Hayward
    MLB- Foster, Goode
    WLB- David, Watson
    CB- DRC, Wright, Howard
    CB- Banks, Johnson, L. Lewis
    FS- Reid, Black, Tandy
    SS- Barron, Thomas

of course if Barber returns he will be at FS and Banks could beat out Wright for the starting position

I would flip banks but not so much Bowers and hunt
Like i said before they would use Hunt on running downs but bring Bowers in on passing downs. I have a feeling the coaching staff will use in as a situation guy next year due to the multiple leg injuries.

    Run Defense
    LE- Hunt
    DT- McCoy
    DT- Knighton
    RE- Clayborn

    Pass Defense
    LE- Bowers
    DT- McCoy
    DT- Hunt
    RE- Clayborn
at 6'8 Hunt reminds me of JJ Watt. I can see Hunt swatting away passes from Drew Brees and Matt Ryan all night

oh well then he is wrong lol
He interchanges with CJ Mosely and Trey DePriest at the ILB positions
I feel he would benifit from scheme change a move from the 3-4 to the 4-3 would be good for him I believe
