@ScottLauber
John Farrell says #RedSox are discussing hiring 2 hitting coaches. It is, in fact, his preference
Joe McDonald @ESPNJoeyMac
Source: Red Sox have had preliminary talks with former Yankee Tino Martinez for the hitting coach job. #redsox.
Joe McDonald of ESPN Boston reports that the Red Sox are considering Tino Martinez for hitting coach.
Martinez has never held that sort of position at any level of professional baseball, but he has worked as a special instructor in spring training for the Yankees and certainly has plenty of knowledge about hitting. The 44-year-old was a .271/.344/.471 career batter in the major leagues
Tino Martinez excites me, seems like he could make a pretty good hitting coach. If anything else it probably would piss off some yankee fans.
Brian MacPherson @brianmacp
Gary Tuck will return as bullpen coach.
yay. So only 1b coach and hitting coach left.
