ESPN’s Gordon Edes is reporting new Boston manager John Farrell is “all in” on Rick Peterson as the team’s new pitching coach, and an announcement could come as early as Tuesday.

John Farrell says #RedSox are discussing hiring 2 hitting coaches. It is, in fact, his preference

    Sounds cool but potentially problematic.

As long as both hitting coaches are on the same page as far as philosophy and approach then that would be extremely beneficial.

Joe McDonald of ESPN Boston reports that the Red Sox are considering Tino Martinez for hitting coach.
Martinez has never held that sort of position at any level of professional baseball, but he has worked as a special instructor in spring training for the Yankees and certainly has plenty of knowledge about hitting. The 44-year-old was a .271/.344/.471 career batter in the major leagues

Tino Martinez excites me, seems like he could make a pretty good hitting coach. If anything else it probably would piss off some yankee fans.
