i have to respectfully disagree. The sox can and need to make a move. If they hope to compete, they need ot be a more dynamic offense i.e. put the ball in play more, get on base. It would take some creativity on Hahn's part but it can be done.

Just an example. Seattle was interested in Viciedo at some point earlier in the off season. With power being at a premium these days, the sox could probably get something like Capps and Paxton for him. Which they could then flip to another team for player x.

There's teams who still need power hitters that the sox have. The Sox also have a few really good outfield and mid-rotation type prospects that can be moved.

So basically you just think sitting here and watching our division get better and us do nothing to make our team better is fine?

I think as fans we have every right to be irritated, I understand now there is nothing for us to do, but how are we supposed to compete with the whole division making big strides and us losing players?

This team over preformed last year and I doubt they do that again this year. The pitching is still there, but our offense is worse than it was last year, not to mention we lost a big part of our team in AJ and have 2 LH's in the lineup now.

Excuse me not being "rational" and "pissed off" because I would like to see my team be worth a **** for the first time in years...
    No ideas for the moment.

So you understand there's not much we can do, but you're pissed off we're not doing anything? I'm confused.

There is still some stuff you can do during this offseason.

    1. Get some pitching depth, guys like Marcum and Jurjjens are going to have to take either low salary guaranteed deals or even minor league deals. Get guys like a Jose Quintana on the minor league free agent market to help fill out the minor leagues.

    2. Try and get some veteran help on the positional side. I don't care how bad he was, if you can get Chone Figgins in here on a non-guaranteed contract, you do it. Maybe you hit a home run. At least it is just option for a guy who can play multiple positions.

I'm sure there will be some more minor moves made before the season starts. I don't think RH is done yet, but if people are waiting for some huge splash I think they'll be disappointed.

I agree with DaBears. Since the sox resigned Peavy and signed Keppinger, that means that the sox intend on competing for the division this year. In order to do so, they need more than a few minor tweaks.

There are still possible moves that can be made, upton for example, that might take some creativity on Hahn's part. Three team deals are tough but can be done. Seattle, Mets, and Rangers are examples of teams that need power hitting corner outfielders. Rios and/or Viciedo can bring back a nice return since power is more of a premium now. Floyd is a guy that can be moved. Hell, i'd trade Sanchez in the right deal.

They're going to have to take a risk and make some moves or you can kiss 2013 goodbye.

Im not usually quick to judge gms, however, if RH does not make a significant move ot catch Detroit, than he shouldnt have resigned Peavy or signed Keppinger. This could be considered a major fail in his first off season.

BL what I am saying is, why weren't things done earlier in the off season so we did not get to this point. I understand our attendance is crap, and we don't have much money to spend, but resigning an injury prone starter and a below average 3rd baseman is all we can do? I guess I just feel like we could have done much more than we did.

White Sox avoided arbitration with Beckham for just over $2.9M and De Aza for just over $2M.

I have the Sox roughly at just over $112M for the total payroll.

I had him pegged around the $2.5 to $2.75M area. That is just how arbitration works. It is stupid, but the players have the owners by the balls in those situations.

All jokes aside i wouldn't mind figgins as a utility player off the bench and a pinch runner late in games.
